I write this, in retrospect that this has always made me sad while playing Phoenix Wright. The one thing I'd like to see is Mia Fey alive, whether it's that we find out her death was faked, or even if it goes as far as to changing the past via time travel. Really, it's not at all common for lawyers to die on the job. The one thing I'd have to say would be an advantage to the series being "reality based" would be, that although we could have fantasy Mia Fey would still be alive. Phoenix and Mia could have a really cute kid who follows in their footsteps when he/she grows up.

Really though, besides hoping for a miracle revival of Mia, I'd hope that Maya or Miles or Godot would get a big game made after them. These are my suggestions. I'm not ranting, I'm just sad to see that a great character had to be killed off. Really, the game series would still have been just as cool.

I agree with you.  She should never have been killed...they could have openend the story in many fashions, such as Phoenix defending her at one point!  Them being a couple is not a bad thought, as the kid will have the training of (2) top notch defense attorneys!

Personally, my one complaint with Mia was that when she got killed, she DIDN'T STAY DEAD. Mia had a TON of potential, especially in TnT, and she remained surprisingly 1-Demensional. If they had used her and made her more important then simply sentamental then I could've loved her.

Very true, she proved that she held up well in the courtroom.  You never know, leaves the door open for Capcom to make a prequel game of her one day (or at least some more flash back cases if she ever comes up)...there was some time before Phoenix joined up and then finally when she had her own practice.

I think she had to die, for phoenix wright to be the character he is, and for the story to work out how it did.

Phoenix is witty and sarcastic, and funny. That's who he is, and it has nothing to do with Mia's death. Nobody "has to die." Mia Fey hardly had a chance at being a character! Sure, she got a very tiny revival in Trials And Tribulations, but it was tiny. Two trials! She deserves a whole game dedicated to her. I thought she'd have at least half of Trials And Tribulations dedicated to her history. For all the unrealistic things in Phoenix Wright, her death is the most unrealistic thing in the entire Ace Attorney series. The office of a lawyer is very safe. A criminal would have to be stupid to go in there with the intent of murder, for there would surely be high security and guards if it was as big a firm as Mia's. In reality, if Mia Fey was a real person she'd still be alive and be a top lawyer.

Major spoilers below beware.

I also think they put Maya through too much. I think it's overkill to have A. The death of her sister. B. A murder accusation. B. Another murder accusation andc she's drugged. C. She's kidnapped after being drugged again and also starved for two whole days. D. She's stranded with only water and her body is overtaken by an evil woman causing her to faint in court all the while she's being accused of murder yet again and the man who helped her has to serve jail time.

Keep in mind she's not even a young adult yet! Poor Maya. If Maya still had Mia she would be able to get through this easier or maybe, just maybe have a normal adolescence like she deserved. And Pearl was affected by Maya's troubles too. Poor Pearl. And she's just a kid.

I say Mia didn't have to die. I don't care if Phoenix were to travel through time late into the future and we played through all those cases over or even different cases. But nobody has to die. Not even for the plot of a video game. Mia should have lived. She deserves more than three trials worth of time for us to enjoy playing as her. Mia Fey's death was unjust.

1. The forum isn't white

2. Experiences make people who they are.
If people had the chance to relive, and something was changed. I doubt they would find themselves exactly the same person

That was to help with spoilers. I don't know how to do the highlighting thing very well, sorry. We can agree to disagree, but I agree that Phoenix would be happier and less bitter if Mia was alive. So I agree he'd be different, but not in a bad way. He'd still be witty and sarcastic, but he'd be happier too. :)

Thanks for the tip! I'm glad we can agree to disagree. :) I can't stand it when I run into problems and nobody acknowledges them, or when people don't back their opinions up with facts if it's a minute detail such as Maya's eye color. And I finished those three games less than a year ago (very recently actually) and for no instant in the first two games are her eyes ever blue. It's a very odd change, and truly I think people would only notice if they were paying very close attention. But even though Mia's dead, we can at least hope to find out she has offspring, seeing as she was old enough to have a boyfriend that maybe never even got mentioned and she's at the age where she easily could have at least one kid before she died.
