Here's a summary of the PS3 online issues for Age of Booty. These issues make me regularly want to throw my PS3 out on the pavement. Love AoB, but the online issues are a major problem. I've played several hundred AoB games and these are persistent issues. Also, my high speed internet connection is very reliable--no issues with other PS3 online games. All PS3 AoB players experience these issues. 1. Invites do not work. Accepting an invite and/or joining a friend's game only works about 1 out of 5 times. Usually it takes 4-5 minutes (sometimes 10 min) just to get into a game lobby with a friend or two. 2. After you are in a room, it will often kick you out. I can't tell you how many times I've had a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 game where we are waiting on the last player to join and everyone gets kicked out of the room. Then it takes another 4-5 minutes just to get back in a room with your friend(s), then you have to wait another 5 or 6 minutes for competitors to join--hoping that you won't get kicked out of the room again. 3. PS3 lock ups. I would say that this happens consistently, usually once or twice per hour of game play. When it locks up the screen just freezes with no sound, you have to hold down the power button, wait for the PS3 to shut down, then reboot. Very frustrating. This happens to every PS3 player of AoB. I have talked to a couple dozen players and all have experienced it semi-regularly. I know of no other PS3 game that has a problem like this. It can happen in lobbies and during the game. 4. Mic delay. Sometime a player's mic will be delayed by 30 seconds to 2 minutes, so that you hear him speaking long after the fact. This probably only happens once for every 5-7 hours of game play. It seems to be rectified by leaving the lobby and joining a new game. 5. XMB switch back. I'd say 1 in 15 times that you go to XMB from the game you won't be coming back. You hit the PS button to go back to AoB and the screen will go black and sit there. You will be able to talk to others in the lobby and faintly see the screen (it is mildly transparent), but you will not be able to get back in the game. PS3 reset is required. These are the biggies. To summarize, IT TAKES TOO LONG AND ITS VERY FRUSTRATING TO GET AN ONLINE GAME GOING FOR AOB ON THE PS3. AND ONCE OR TWICE AN HOUR IT WILL FREEZE UP YOUR PS3. This is very disappointing coming high quality developer like Capcom. It's a great game, but I think it's the buggiest game for a console that I've ever played. PLEASE FIX. #'s 1, 2, 3 are absolutely critical to having a decent online experience. Thanks, J |

Yeah this game is a joke in terms of reliability. Seriously what were you guys thinking? This is really a Capcom game? Makes no sense. |

I agree to all the problems above! But thats still peanuts comapared to that after the patch of European Trial version the game couldn't be started at all! So wath out what you are shouting for. If you are unlucky a patch to fix the multiplayer issues in US version might actually brake your game totally! |

I notice every good review this game gets is for the Xbox Live Arcade version. I downloaded this game on the PSN, but I can't say for myself that I've experienced these technical difficulties. . . because nobody plays online!!! Seriously, that blows ass to the max : ( |

Patch v1.02 has gone live in SCEE land (Sony Europe). If your game doesn't autopatch, please delete the old build, and redownload from Sony Store. On launch it will autopatch. Let us know if you still encounter problems. ~tim |

All the problems still persist (I'm located in the US). It takes very little PS3 AOB time to see these problems. They are persistent and experienced by all AOB PS3 online players (I play with a lot of mic'd players and hear all the gripes all the time). Fix invites, lock ups, and room kick outs and this game will be 1000% better. You may consider having your devs log some time on PSN and experience the frustration themselves. |

I agree to what J is writing. The game is great but the multiplayer experience is terrible - please listen and fix this by a patch soon - while there are still people playing the game online! |

FOUR DAYS since the last post in this thread. How about a: WE ARE SORRY THE ONLINE PLAY SUCKS apology to every psn players inbox? At this point, who cares about an apology, FIX the damn problems. A baker would never get away with selling raw bread, why the hell did you release this to the public when it's obviously broken?
I could understand pc users having problems, 999,999 hardware/net combinations, but PS3 problems? Really? So frustrated at the devs, and at not using profanity to express how I truly feel. Lost respect for Capcom that's for sure. Don't publish garbage next time. Thanks. |

ATTN: Tim Are you saying the deleting the game an re-dowloading it will solve the online connection problems? I'm going to try it, even though that kind of stinks with the whole "limited number of re-dowloads" deal with the PSN. I'll report back with my results.... |
