Rest in peace Age of Booty.

A wonderful game. Clubbed to death by creator and publisher before it had a chance to live.

It will take me awhile to forgive.

You're so totally right.

and on top of that you get arrogant "not our fault, we don't care" answers from the responsibles.

nope, no games from capcom, certain affinity et. al.

Talking about how Age of Booty is unplayable. To get a game going with friends online is a challenge.

Constant invallid cdkey errors (sometimes when they retype key they can play- untill they next log on and it requests key again). Dropping players when the game starts.

I couldnt even play online till I bought Steam version (I bought it first day from capcom).

There is a reason why you wont find anyone looking for games at gamespy.

Because even if they do find a game chances are it will crash.

It took a month after release to realise that duplicate keys were being distributed at capcom store.

I dont even know if patch did anything.

Lack of any support or announcements.

I could keep going...

Sounds pretty dreadful. I'd love to get a game going sometime (on the Xbox360 version).

I've played MP before and haven't had any issues with it (again on the 360 version...). Maybe the test team did a good job when it was being submitted to MGS cert. It seems weird that there's so many issues with the PS3 and PC version (from what I've been seeing on these boards).

What?

The fact that as a Moderator you came up with this response just about sums up how clueless and apathetic the Developers and Distributors of this game are. Have you not read the forums? This is a brilliant multiplayer game that has been killed by bad decisions, inadequate testing and poor support.

I run the Steam AoB group and have spoken to many people about this game. Many of them have simply just given up and written off the $10 they paid for it. If I hadn`t taken it upon myself to try and breath some life into this corpse I would have given up on it aswell and to be honest I think I have wasted my time. I should have just written off the money that I spent instead of wasting hours and hours trying to get a multiplayer community going.

I think it`s highly unlikely I will ever buy a game with a Capcom or Certain Affinity logo on it again. In fact it has already disuaded me from buying Flock.

I, as a Moderator, was responding to a sentence.  A sentence that was:

Clubbed to death by creator and publisher before it had a chance to live

My question of "What?" was referring to that statement.  What did that mean?  You didn't explain anything.  I read these forums all the time.  I really enjoy Age of Booty.  I'm sad that not everyone has the chance to enjoy it in the way I have, but I don't know how to help you guys.  Capcom is aware of everything (and I'm sure Certain Affinity is), but I no one has responded to me or you guys.

since capcom support only comes up with replies like "We trying to resolve the issue but we need to know where you saw the features advertised that are not in the game." (like uhm... a decent working MP experience for a... MP game?) I highly doubt that they have the slightest clue what's going on. geez I mean they didn't even bother to check out the game's homepage for christ's sake much less than caring for what's going on with the game and only keep telling us that they're "not responsible".
