I bought the program and downloaded the installer no problems. I ran the installer and installed everything required. Soon, it was finished. When all was said and done, I tried to execute the program, but it failed, yielding an error message about a missing DLL. I downloaded the DLL and put it in the Age of Booty directory, and tried to execute it. I got another error message about another DLL, and I followed the same procedure. Now, when I start it up, it doesn't really do anything. It waits a few moments, the window opens for about half a second, then closes itself instantly. |

Sounds like one of the prerequisite installs, such as DirectX, may have failed. Manually adding DLLs usually points to a bigger problem (though it works sometimes). Can you list what DLL was missing? |

First, it was "d3dx9_35.dll", and when I added that, it was "x3daudio1_2.dll". |

This sounds like DirectX somehow did not get properly installed. Please download DirectX 9.0c redist from Microsoft and install (directx_9c_redist.exe): www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx...

I downloaded and ran the executable, and the installer showed up, but as soon as I began the installation, it said it was done, which is the same thing it did when I ran it the first time. So, apparently that isn't the problem. Thanks for the quick reply, though. |

g->lake++ is right it is a Direct-X problem. You are not the first person to have this problem, if you had looked further down the page you would have seen this thread. www.capcom-unity.com/ageofbooty/go/threa... Once you have AoB running join the AgeofBooty Steam group. It will greatly increase your chances of getting a multiplayer game. steamcommunity.com/groups/AgeofBooty

I've re-installed DirectX, but the program still doesn't work. When I open the shortcut, nothing happens for about 20 seconds, then an empty window opens up and instantly closes itself. By the way, I've noticed that every time it does this, it creates a new ".dmp" file in the home directory. |
