    New Recruits

    Monday, July 6, 2009, 02:24 PM [General]

Getting people on the Monster Hunter train can be awfully fun.

My friend and I took showed a new hunter the ropes of the game and screwed around. Hilarity ensued.

(I'll work on improving the video quality as I get to making videos on hunting more important things.)

I really enjoyed hitting Vyse around with a teddy bear.

kate had quite the fun time. She said she was hooked when I told her she was doing better than our other friend on his first time. Hopefully she sticks with it, I need more hunting buddies.

After she left, my hunter-in-crime Vyse and I started tackling some more serious issues:

I started off by failing the two tigrex quest with him a couple of times, then just moved on to farming for some new equipment on the high rank quests.

I'm really hoping to hit HR6 soon. My neighbor/good friend let me put adhoc party on his PS3 and I tested it this last Friday. I'm hoping to get M.H. back online with all this soon. Maybe then I could tackle that Tigrex...

    Hunting Videos

    Thursday, July 2, 2009, 07:07 PM [General]

Well, since I'm having trouble uploading to the unity site itself...

A test of my PSP capturing.

The sound was getting all messed up. Still gotta fix that.

But I'm becoming a better hunter. Yay.

The Rathian was either killed by posion or my felyne.

    Either way. Good stuff.

    Converting.

    Thursday, July 2, 2009, 05:22 PM [General]

So, to any of you reading, I need your help.

After I get out of work in two or so hours I am off to grab some potential Monster Hunter Recruits. Me and my hunter-in-crime Bear are getting others in on the Monster Hunter fun. It's been a while since I was new to this game and I forgot the real point when I became hooked on the game. I know between the two expert hunters we can show them what its all about and maybe get them to get into the game.

But I need to show them past that steep learning curve. Any suggestions on how to hook em?

    For male and female players.

    Uniting?

    Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 02:52 PM [General]

So, its been a bit since my last post. But surely I've been keeping busy. The PSP woes continued for a bit as my WLAN randomly cut out on my PSP while playing MHF2 with my partner-in-crime. It was quite odd. I was quite sad knowing that MHFU was going to be released next week and I needed to find or fix a PSP.

I spent the last week in New York when it was released, desperately scrounging on craigslist for a cheap solution. I had already bought the game (sad I know). Lots of scams, people who didn't get back to me; it was all terribly frustrating.

Eventually I made it though. Found one for 50 bucks. Only about an hours drive away from where I was staying. Of course I got lost even with my GPS, but it was damn worth the trip. Nice enough guy who I bought it from. A bit of cosmetic damage, but the damn thing worked like a champ. I took it apart and got it back into shape from my graveyard of PSP parts.

I am now happily hunting again. But I'm at my HR5 Urgent and its starting to get to be too much for just me and my friend to handle. I've got my xlink setup..but its kind of flaky as there's something wrong with my network traffic. I'm trying to recruit my friends into playing, but little luck so far. I recently posted on the board's meetup thread. Hopefully I meet some new peeps from Wisconsin willing to get some ad-hoc on. I wouldn't mind hosting a place to play.

    Until then.

    Happy Hunting.

    Its. So. Beautiful.

    Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 06:28 PM [General]

So, after hours and hours of fiddling and numerous settings, I am finally on xlink kai again.

    Its beautiful.

I bought an earlier version linksys router off of Craigslist (only 25 bucks!) before coming into work and put some custom firmware on it. This was after I spent all of yesterday with a newer linksys WRT54G. My friend next door had one that he bricked a long while ago, and out of desperation after my other two setups failed, revived his router with DD-WRT firmware and added custom Kai software through the command line. Noooo dice.

Well now that's changed. After nights and days of fiddling. I'm friggin' online. ^_^.

Now, to make friends to play with...
