Playing through Mega Man 9 last week, everything seemed extremely familiar. There is an almost deja-vuey quality to the entire experience, but one particular moment stood out to me. After completely devastating Magma Man (after the eighth or so try) and firing off the new gun, the Magma Bazooka I froze. I'd heard that sound before. Kah-chow!! Kah-chow!
I'm fairly certain that this is the same sound effect used for the Bazooka weapon in the original Bionic Commando. There's a video on youtube of someone playing through BC here, and I apologize in advance for the terrible inner-monologue of the person playing the game.
