Hello! Welcome to my debut post, now, on to business (hope I put this in the right place!) For those who may not know, Fate/Unlimited Codes is a fighting game based on the Type-Moon Visual Novel, Fate/Stay Night. Now, recently this game was release in the arcades in Japan. Now, it has been confirmed that it will hit PS2's on December 18 (http://videogamerx.gamedonga.co.kr/zbxe/files/attach/images/699943/778/936/03.jpg), via Capcom (unless I missed something major...) Now, I was curious if this game has a snowball's chance of being released here. Fate is quite a popular franchise on both sides of the seas, and it would be a treat to the fans to actually get to play this. I know I can't be te only on who wants this here! So,I was curious if anyone of the Capcom people could give me their thoughts/opinions on the matter at hand. I do know that's it's very early (maybe too early), but as a fan, I just need to know of a possibility! Is it something that would seriously be considered, or will you analyse the sales in Japan before guagung a US release, or is it something different. I know it may not be possible to talk about it completly, but if you can provide ANY type of insight (even your own personal speculation), it would be awesome! I would also like to know what fellow members think on the subject, nothing wrong with a little conversation!

Do want. Game looks great, and while I have nothing against Fatal/Fake, having a higher budget Fate fighter that doesn't suck (Fate/Sword Dance) would be great. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for a stateside release. Type-Moon fans are few and far between when it comes to English speakers.

I I wonder about that last statement a bit. Though TM fans are definatly small in the states when compared to their Japanese counterparts, they do seem to be growing, especially considering that many TM releated media is being released in the States (ex. Tokyopop is releasing the manga, Funi is releasing a DVD set of the series. And DelRey is released KnK next year). So I do see some greater appeal. Plus, this is a fighting game, the fact that it's based off of TM characters Ijust a bonus, and it could easily appeal to that crown, you know. Still, it would be great if this game was released, though. I wonder if it is something that would actually be seriously considered. Plus, you never know how well something will do unless you try, right?

That's true, but for the most part the only quasi-mainstream exposure that western audiences have had to the Fate series specifically was the fairly lack-luster anime, which isn't exactly as wide out there as things like Naruto or Bleach. Still, it would be great if this game was released, though. I wonder if it is something that would actually be seriously considered. Yeah, it'd be pretty great - I'd snatch it up in an instant, though I'd have to buy a PS2. A PC release would be even better, but I don't see that happening, even though PCs are the best platform for fighting games EVAR. I did ask Sven about the vague possibility of a stateside console release of the game at one point a fair while ago, just so you know - response I got was that there was "nothing to announce" more or less (fairly standard), though he also pointed out the fact that the franchise is pretty much unknown to folks over here.

I took a look at the game, and looks pretty good. I haven't seen any of the anime and manga, but it looks like a solid fighting game. It would be awesome if Capcom brought this to the US and Europe. I also hope Tatsunoko vs Capcom gets localized.

Hey if I bought Arcana Heart for my PS3 (PS2 game) and that is lesser known then Type Moon (series) games (Melty Blood,Fate/Fake stay night) should have a chance coming here. If the anime company that holds the rights in the states wants more attention to the series that they have then really they should cut down on royalty to boost the name and image for that series. Plus it's not like it's a new game, they just need to translated and publish it. I think Funimation owns the rights to FSN series. If by chance it does come to the states, may they be smart and have JPN audio with optional subtitles in, I still have nightmares with Naurto games, especially the one Ubisoft published that they said it'll have JPN audio them liars it wasn't on the dvd so it doesn't count (I know you had to download it) in my eyes or should I say ears.
In FPS, I stopped shooting while jumping, for my crotch can't take the abuse anymore. Darn noobs with their auto aims... my precious it hurts us.

I would love this game to come out. I think it would be good timing if released after sf4. it would pick up on some of the renewed interest in fighters. thanks to sf4. Also since funimation released the anme box set not to long ago, plus the manga started coming out. on a side, since capcom published in japan. I wonder why alot of people are requesting this game at the atlus forums and not here.
