The guy (SEGA's president) was obsiously speculating a possible future release... That's how I understood it, by his tone of voice and casual speech.

Simon's a friend of mine... but I don't think I've spoken to him about anything like that. No comment beyond that really. Interesting clip that slip aside though. Simon's a really smart guy. I have a lot of respect for his work at Sega and his prior work at Lucasarts.

The interviewers are just... well... partial and trying to shove the idea of "please, do crap for that console, don't make an effort, I beg of you, real games shouldn't sell on it, because if they do developers will do more of them, shouldn't! not can't", seriously, that isn't professional. it's childish even. As for his comments... I think he would imply he was speculating if he was, thing is, he didn't said it as a secret either, more like a casual remark. My guess is he mistook it for some other game (perhaps RE4) and didn't notice. these guys are interviewed like 20 times in a row, they have to make mistakes. This said, he is also a insider, so he ought to know more about other companies than the average joe, and madworld is by platinum games, ex-capcom employees who could still have some ties with it, so... But I'm going with my previous stated gut felling instead of this "imaginative" at this time scenario.
Will translate into more pressure for Capcom though. |

Monkey_Tape doesn't like to align himself with a particular console for stupid reasons. But this is an exception.
Capcom, Monkey_Tape doesn't say this about many games, but RE5 needs to be on Wii. It simply won't feel right without the Wii's controls. You're already doing it with Dead Rising, so why not? |

the more hope and speculation, the better. I mean look how the conduit is coming along. That's definately a notch below high def, and the AI is pretty advanced. RE5's AI doesn't look to be much more advanced. So an RE5 release rumor definatly holds true, and those that think its impossible or difficult to port over are pretty wrong. |

I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of Capcom's next-gen offerings were to also become available for the Wii. Dead Rising and Umbrella Chronicles seem to indicate that Capcom's trying to bring the Wii audience (the ones who didn't own Gamecubes / Are new to these franchises) up to speed. Not putting RE5 on Wii is just...well, let's just say I think the chances of it happening (eventually) are higher than those of it not happening. Street Fighter requires no introduction obviously. And Lost Planet...well, I still think it would work very well on Wii. Let's hope they bring it over. There's no reason not to at this point, really. Make it so, Sven! ;)
P.S: Plus we have Monster Hunter and Spyborgs as exclusives. Capcom really does care about the Wii's audience despite what people might think. They make a tidy profit, we get games. Everyone's happy.
