i'll wait till i play Dead Rising Wii first to see if capcom can really take a next gen game and pare it down to the Wii performance......

i'm pretty sure they could if they really try, after all they work their magic on the RE4 PS2 port and very few complain of the end results.

They aren't paring it down to the Wii's performance, they're building a "Cube" version of Dead Rising, so what does that say?

Taking a GC game and making a ps2 game is one thing.  Taking a game that makes use of the 360 or ps3's assets and making a Wii game is altogether different.  The power gap is much larger.

RE4-Wii sales proofs that you are wrong.

I don't think that's a valid comparison in this case.

Consider: RE4 Wii was pretty much the best version of RE4 available - had the GC version's graphics, PS2's features, etc. A RE5 port would not only be late in coming compared to the PS3/360 versions, but would also be fairly gimped by comparison in the visuals department (compare Dead Rising Wii screenshots to the 360 version - it isn't the "same game but not HD").

That isn't to say that such a port wouldn't sell, just that it might not sell like hotcakes compared to the previosuly released higher-end versions.

wait, what?

I fixed your comment. You can thank me later.

keep in mind though Dead Rising was a 360 game and thats coming over to the wii. Graphics look slightly downgraded and the graphics don't look too hot with the screenshots i've seen so far but the final product should look on par.

I think Dead Rising is only the 1st next gen title coming to wii.
