Are Capcom pleased with DMC4's PC sales?

Maybe Capcom could try Valve's approach, by releasing downloadable content after the game's release. Assuming that the DLC would be unplayble on pirated versions, then those who pirated the game would be forced to buy the game in order to play the DLC.

How about PC sales of Colonies, and Colonies in general ? The game deserves so much more credit, the multiplayer is awesome. A multiplayer demo would be great to get the fence sitters :).

Agreed that Colonies deserves more love too. Now that MS has free multiplayer cross-play on PC and 360, there's even more reason to pick it up on either platform. It is one of the best multiplayer games anywhere and easily one of the best values around at $29.99.

Well,I agree that piracy is a big problem and personally I know one of the reasons. It's been said here before but a lot of people download games for free just because they don't know if their PC can run it.But if it can and they like the game, they'll buy it legally.

For example,I wasn't sure that my PC can run Lost Planet when I bought it.And I wasn't even sure that I'll like the game itself! But luckily,it all turned out very wellCool

And another reason,I think,is local distibution. In my country, for example,DMC4 fo PC isn't even out yet!And the official distributor just says:"It'll be out this year".This is sad 'cos people play it all around the world for nearly a month! And that's why people also download games. They just want to play it the same day it comes out.

Thank God,my friend brought it to me from U.S.A.Smile

Its a real shame that the game has not sold up to your expectations yet. Hopefully it will pick up as more people start to read how well it was made for the PC.

I think another problem that DMC4 had on launch was that virtually all stores recieved shipments very late. I had to wait more then a week after release for my Local BestBuy to recieve the game. And i read over at the gamefaqs forums that alot of people were having trouble finding the game as well.

Hopefully next time you guys do you use Steam or another source to distrubute the game. Either way i want to thank you for the excellent PC version of DMC4. You guys have my respect and i have recommended it to every pc gamer i know. Well done Capcom!

There's nothing more powerful for us than word of mouth. Please do continue to spread the word.

I also think that perhaps had the game released when the other versions did, maybe it would have sold more? I bought it the day it came out on the Xbox 360. I'm not a PC gamer so I still would have bought it for the 360, however some people like Sven there, have a nice PC gaming setup and would prefer the game on PC.

As for Lost Planet Colonies Edition... I was a little disapointed at the marketing for that, at least on the Xbox side... Instead of releasing it as a Platinum Hits game with the SAME cover sporting a little blurb about being "Colonies Edition" Capcom should have just made a new Cover for it to differentiate it, I own both the original and the colonies edition for the 360, but some people probably have no idea it's a new version of the game, and pass it over thinking "oh that's an old game". Just my thoughts.

I´ve bought both Lost Planet and DMC 4 for pc, but that´s european sales. DMC 4 has gotten a very good reputation on the pc fan-sites i normally visit (Rage 3d and Nvnews). Hopefully the sales will rise with time!

I think one problem could be that most pc users don´t want to buy a pad. Personally i´m buying the 360 pad for windows just for DMC 4, but i´m hoping it will come to good use with furure Capcom pc releases :)

Thanks Capcom for bringing your fantastic games to pc. Be sure i will continue supporting your pc efforts!

I'm not sure about how Capcom in general feels but It's not doing as well as I would like in the US at retail. It's such a good version and it really deserves better sales. I know it's getting pirated to hell and back (it was up on torrents literally the day it shipped).

I certainly have pushed for digital distribution on the title (globally, I'm responsible for all DD deals) but Capcom Japan so far has not allowed it. For the record ALL CEI developed titles will be distributed extremely widely via digital channels (not just Steam or Direct2Drive, but more than a dozen partners across more than 100 sites/portals for everything we do). I've spent the last year building up that channel and I'm continuing to add partners even in advance of Age of Booty, MotoGP, Neopets, Dark Void and Flock shipping.

I have a presentation I'm making shortly that I'm hoping will make that approach something we do with all of our PC content, even those developed in Japan, but no promises. It might not happen.

In the mean time, Ben Judd has completely understood CEI's strategy and Bionic Commando Rearmed will have broad digital distribution for PC (not quite as many as CEI titles, but close).

Don't lose heart mate, once it's up on steam sales should be pretty steady and from what I can tell it's quite good

A lot of people (myself included) really appreciate the fantstic job you're doing on the PC and I'll be getting Devil May Cry eventually. I'd also like to say that you should not be afraid of implementing Draconian anti-piracy measures, regardless of the backlash

People are going to piss and moan wwhatever happens and they'll forget about it after a few weeks. The only people you'll really get to are pirates and they weren't going to buy your games anyway. Keep up the good work!

also make some more DS games please
