SFIV Online Multiplayer Suggestions: Ranked Game Rematches, Revised BP Save Flow, Join Game Alerts

Advance apologies if this should be posted on another thread.


Please consider forwarding these features to Capcom JP for a future patch:


Ranked Game Rematches: Allow rematches in Ranked Games. Might involve changing save flow of BP recording (see below).


Revised BP Save Flow: Have system save the BP immediately when the RESULT/RECORDS screen appears. Currently, users who lose Ranked Games can avoid saving BP by quitting out of the game on the RESULT/RECORDS screen via PS button or returning to Xbox 360 Dashboard.


Dropped Game Penalty: Penalize users who quit out of Ranked Matches by temporarily deactivating their ability to play online via Gamertag or PSN ID blacklisting, or subtract BP from their profile the next time they log in. Suggested application: Have BP criteria fulfilled by accessing one checkpoint at the Character Select screen and another one at the Match Results screen -- any profile not meeting these two checkpoint criteria can be assumed to have dropped during gameplay and should be penalized.


Note: Users with poor Internet connections should be expected to either resolve their connection issues or remain in Player Matches where their BP is unaffected.


Join Game Alerts: For users hosting matches and waiting on the 1 ON 1 LOBBY, play an alert sound or activate controller vibration when a new player joins. This can allow users to multitask while waiting for an opponent as well as prevent the client from waiting too long for the host to attend to them.

100% no to blocking someone/blacklist from playing online for a disconnect. Personal blacklists sure, but not systemwide.


For the BP calculations, I agree though. They should be added/subbed as soon as the last hit has landed (probably already calculated), so you'd have to disconnect before you actually lose if you don't want the BP loss :p.


People shouldn't just lose BP for a disconnect though. It has to be the repeat offenders that lose it. Something needs to track it so you can tell who the serial disconnectors are and subtract BP from them. These can be done locally, unless save hacking becomes an issue (and I don't think it is, since no one hacked their BPs AFAIK).

Good points, man. I was just thinking of a quick implementation on Capcom's side. I don't know how easy it would be for them to calculate BP while in-game.
