Capcom's views on fighers on the PC

Once again a big thank you is deserved for making a PC version of SF4. While we all wait for further details on the game and such i cant help but wonder if Capcom considers fighters as a possible new genre for the PC market. While fighters on the PC are extremely rare without emulation they do have a huge following. I hope Capcom has seen the potential and has already considered bringing some of their future fighters to the PC. Even though i doubt you would but visiting the top emulation sites clearly states you have hundreds of thousands of potential customers who are more then willing get your games. And im sure as fans they most of them would support you and purchase the games so i think while it would be a risk it just might pay off.

With games like Street Fighter 2 HD just released for consoles, and the new "rumored" MVC2 relaunch for the consoles possibly coming i really hope that Capcom would consider to release these games as downloadable titles for the PC. Please keep us PC gamers in mind! Innocent

So my question is not asking if these titles will come out or not, cause by know i know that Capcom would not answer that clearly in a forum post... So my real question is do Capcom see the PC as a viable platform for fighters?

I'm a ex-console gamer, I moved over to the PC side and would love to see a fighting game on PC.

My top PC games are

Half Life 2 Series

Left 4 Dead

Bio Shock

Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

Overlord

(And soon the be) Street Fighter 4

(I also would have added GTA4, but low performace kept it off this list)

In addition to the upcoming SF4 PC port, there's also the (near vaporware, at this point) PC Dead or Alive: Online, Guilty Gear XX #Reload, Melty Blood Act Cadenza, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, and Big Bang Beat. They're admittedly not super high budget games with amazing graphics, but the whole lot of them are a ton of fun. While I'm not certain about BBB, having not played it a terrible lot, the other games all feature extremely high quality online multiplayer.

wait, what?

@Zoop- Indeed, i play some guilty gear on the PC as well (works fine with the xbox 360 controller). In the end i just hope Capcom doesn't pass up a considerable oportunity with their future fighters. Also i remember hearing a nice rumor that King of fighters 12 will be coming to the PC later this year after the console release! Of course its nothing thats confirmed, but one would hope that it would. I would personally love to see more fighters come to the PC. IMO these are exciting times to be a PC gamer, compared to the past we are seeing more genres and variety... So lets hope the trend continues.

@marcus - You should get DMC4 on PC, its very well optimized I highly recommend it. Just make sure you have a controller :-)

PC Gaming sucks unless you have a good enough computer for it, plus most PC games are lame first person shooters or WoW. Gaming's gone downhill since the golden days.

Actually I'd argue that a run-of-the-mill Windows PC is currently one of the most balanced platforms available in terms of overall game selection, though in some cases you have to look beyond the surface of the mainstream before you start to find the gems that will never make their way to any console.

Also, console gaming tends to suck without a proper console, too. :P

I hadn't heard about the possibility of KoF making its way over, but if that's true that's pretty awesome. While on the topic of possibilities, considering Arc System Work's history with Guilty Gear games on PC, it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility that we could end up seeing a version of Blazblue come our way, either.

wait, what?

Do people really believe this type of nonsense? The PC has way more variety in games than any single console.

And even in the golden days, you needed sufficient PC specs to play games. So that's nothing new.

King of Fighters is by SNK, or SNK Playmore, whatever they're called now. I've heard some rumors about it coming to PC as well.

IMO if a game is on PS3 and XBOX360 they might as well put it on PC too, it's a relatively easy port, and it would only have to sell (again relatively) small numbers to break even.

It's like the story about the two shoe salesmen who go to Africa, one returns dissapointed; no one wears shoes there. The other is excited: No one has shoes there, so there's huge potential for sales! The lack of fighting games IMO means that ones that do come out could sell very well, with the right marketing behind it.

I am pretty darn sure it comes down to one thing, if street fighter 4 sells decent enough!  I think it's a bit unfair tho considering all the hype for street fighter 4 died down, hopefully it sells well anyway.  Hopefully everyone decides to forget the bittorent thing for these capcom gems.  I'd love to see marvel vs capcom, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and every thing else :D If this is goes on steam im sure it will sell.
