We'll see. Frankly, we just don't know. We're trying something out and seeing what sort of reception it gets. There haven't been any "Good" fighters made expressly for PC in probably 15 years (since SF2 Champ Edition). We're hoping we can find an audience there. I can't comment on some of the more specific elements of your question that deals with specific titles, but let's see how SFIV does before we worry about anything that may or may not be further down the line.

No cause for Capcom to be wary. The PC community has been subsisting off of japanese fan-made fighting games for a long time. A mainstream release coming out will get gobbled up faster than you can imagine. You shall see. |

I am sure that SF4 pc will be a huge succes because evryone will want to play online and so you need to have the original game to do that. Take Demigod for example. Demigod released for pc a few days ago and is already very good sales because the multiplayer part of it is more instresting than the single part and as you can see piracy didnt hurt it sales at all. So in my opinion if SF4PC has multiplayer it will be a succes. Also dont forget that pc dosent have any fighting games right now for years. That another reason to buy it. And playing with keyboard+ mouse is much better than playing on console, i played and finished teken1,2,3 and 4 and rumble roses on my pc with playstation 2 emulator and i can say it was easier and more fun to play on the pc than the ps2. |

The PC fighting game community is actually rather large. You can't attend any anime conventions or gaming conventions without seeing people who brought their PCs for a big Melty Blood party, and I play Guilty Gear XX #Reload online through GGXXNet daily, and have seen thousands of unique users doing the same. Considering it's a very obscure netplay client released for the Japanese version only, thousands is a pretty big number.
SFIV will be gobbled up on PC. If Capcom is wary of Piracy, just release it in a manner where the multiplayer requires a CD key authentication, or for the game to have been purchased on steam, or any number of methods. Sure, TCP/IP and LAN play built in would be nice, too, but we don't need them, and we need SFIV for PC so we can play with our friends without requiring them to buy the same console as we have. (And then pay a monthly fee on top of that, if it's the 360. ) |

@ Sven - How's Captivate going for you guys? Hope all is well. Anyway back on topic.. I assumed as much that SF4 would be the testing of waters for fighters on PC. But i think that as long as you guys did your part and really made an outstanding version for us then im sure the consumer will reward you guys. In my opinion Capcom responsible for how sucessful this title will be not us the consumer. Rather or not it will hit major digital distrubution markets, how well you market the game in advertising in magizines and online ads, or press hands on sessions, and of course good optimization both on a performance level and network(online) level, all these done right things will mold towards a successful launch. In the end just keep us PC folks in mind when you release or start pre-production of a new fighter

THERE IT IS! THEY ANNOUNCED MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3!!! THIS TIME I'M 40% SURE OF IT. Also, I was half being facetious (as usual) when I said PC gaming is lame, actually, yeah I stand behind that statement, I'm not being facetious any more. It's all WoW players and basement dwellers playing FPSes, but yeah, same goes for console gamers. You're only cool if you DON'T play FPSes. |

Remind me what the two best selling PC games of all time are... Oh, wait. THE SIMS, and THE SIMS 2. Clearly - PC gaming is nothing but WOW players, and first person shooter players. While World of Warcraft is third on the list, the fourth is - wait for it - StarCraft, a real time strategy game. Half-Life, Half-Life 2, and Counter Strike are the only first person shooters on the top ten. Any other overly broad, generalized, and fairly asinine comments?
wait, what?
