Now that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is official, this must mean Capcom and Marvel have come to a new deal of sorts for releasing licensed content. The question is, how far will it extend?

-Is the deal only applicable to Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on Xbox Live and PSN? If so, does it allow for just a straight up port of the game (with online capabilities), or is the possibility of new added content there?

-Does the deal extend to other already existing Marvel/Capcom properties? If so, could we perhaps be seeing collections of their other arcade games (Punisher, X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, etc.). How about X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse and Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems for Wii Virtual Console?

-Okay, the big one: does the deal allow for new, original games to be produced? I.E., Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, or perhaps some other form of new Marvel property?

MvC2 is back....is it also a beginning?

I don't want to bring the pessimism here, but do you really think Capcom is gonna answer to questions like that?

I mean, they will, with "no comment" answers... but that's not the kind of answer you're looking for, right?

Don't get me wrong, I share similar questions... (specially regarding a possible MvC3 and some other remakes or sequels)... but I guess we'll have to just sit and wait for now... =/

Yeah, you're probably right, they wouldn't answer here. Still, I think I posted this just because I'm excited at the possibilities. If there are further plans, hopefully we'll hear about them soon, maybe at E3.

Well, I remember marvel saying something like, "I would love to make a new marvel vs capcom game..." at Comic con or something. anyways u can't rule out possibilities. MvC2 is getting another release and we can only wait to see if there is any MvC3 afterwards. Capcom has a pattern they fallow for these fighters on the new gen consoles. release an upgraded old fighter and then fallow up with a new installment of the franchise. I do believe we will see MvC3 in the future especially if MvC2 sells well. Fans and gamers alike, if u want to see MvC3 in the future then freakin buy MvC2 when it releases. Oh, and I don't think Capcom will answer this question because it will give too much away about where the company is heading. Judging by the previous games released, I'm liking this new Capcom. (SFIV , TvC, street fighter hd remix, puzzle fighter, Resident evil 5, etc...)

Right now,it only rumor...

I know the stuff about fighter who came at same time as re-release is a true thing, but remember, seth himself said that the barrier to make mvc3 are much higher than the re-release of mvc2.

But however,i dont think it would have taked a while to bring mvc2 on xbox live and psn^since it a permission thing^but everything is possible...

From what I know, the release of MvC2 is a stand-alone deal that doesn't account for any future games.

I'm guessing that this game is gonna sell A LOT. Marvel is as big as its ever been, and SF hasn't been this big in 15 years, so I think they'd be pretty silly not to look into a 3rd installment eventually though.

Also, Dazzler and Elena should be on the cover.

Punisher was one of the coolest arcade games ever. I would get that.

The deal for MvC2, upon which I was the primary negotiator, only grants us rights to port and sell digitally MvC2. Beyond that, we'll see how this title does. I have high hopes.

Well, judging by how crazy people went over the tu4ar.com site, I'd say that it'd sell well. If such holds true, then would it be possible for you guys to continue and release the rest of the "vs" games?
