Is Capcom current rights holder for Marvel fighting games?

I remember back then when people here said Capcom can't release MVC2 because EA currently has the rights for Marvel fighters and it won't happen until later in the future. So my question is did EA's rights finally expire and Capcom aquired it back? Or did Capcom figure out a way around it to make this happen? Either way I must tell Capcom, nice job!

EA definitely lost the rights. Nobody's sayin if Capcom snatched them back up or not. Destructoid seems to think they did and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is happening.

I think Sven mentioned that they obtained the rights to digitally distribute Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 through negotiations.  That's it.

They did not get the rights back. This is pretty common knowledge.

Is it possible for Capcom to work with DC Universe then or is there not enough support to get this project going?  Would it hurt their relationship with Marvel if Capcom decides to work with DC or could they collaborative get together to do a deeper game?

I read that DC suppose to be working with Capcom with making comic books for DMC so it isn't like their business relationship is foreign.

The MvC2 deal pertains ONLY to MvC2. Anything that happens beyond that will be contingent upon MvC2's performance (and naturally, Marvel has considerable say in that decision too).

What Sven is basically saying. Buy the MvC2 DL if you wanna see MvC3 become a reality.

Lvl3 note: make sure you get your friends and family to buy it as well

But why do I get the feeling you guys are already working on MvC3... in some form? I bet you'll make a announcment at Comic Con.

Even though I have two seperate copeis for DC (domestic and import), i'll still buy this.  That's how much I love this game.

Good Job Capcom.
