So there was another way to release MVC2 all along!

Not until the EA relationship had ended there wasn't.

So does this mean the Capcom relationship has NOW started? (which is good news!)

No

Capcom got the right to re-release mvc2 and that it.But if it sucssesful, marvel may be interested in doing other stuff with capcom^like mvc3 for exemple^

Right now the sooner part may be at  e3,but also capcom dont have the marvel license except for the re-release.

Also something interesting, marvel were the first to announce mvc2.So maybe they really love it,so much that they unleashed the new earlier than expected. So that might be one part of a confirmation if marvel want to let capcom release more marvel fighter...

Last I heard the above post is the most correct version of the facts.

That is "last I heard" however.

Contractually, Marvel was allowed to break the news first. It was a point we'd agreed upon. They too are big fans of the series and were happy to reach an agreement with us. So far it's been a great partnership.

Sounds like a beautiful relationship between Marvel and Capcom is about to blossom.

Anyway, exactly which company has the license for Marvel fighting games right now? No one?

Ok moving on lol..

Im glad This game is coming out. I will support this title.

Will there be a capcom vs snk 2 release as well? Or could that be in the works?

What Sven is basically saying. Buy the MvC2 DL if you wanna see MvC3 become a reality.

Lvl3 note: make sure you get your friends and family to buy it as well

But why do I get the feeling you guys are already working on MvC3... in some form? I bet you'll make a announcment at Comic Con.

I do not yet own a PS3 or a 360, but I plan to purchase one of these systems solely for MVC2 re-release. Can I send you (capcom) a check now for the download????

I want this to succeed so much. I think this is the most oppertune time for MVC3, taking into consideration the tremendous popularity of the Marvel franchise, and the upcoming Avengers franchise.

Theres been a few discussions on these forums about why this isn't happening and from what I can decipher, the hold up is the licensing for marvel fighitng games.

Activision no longer has the rights (thank God), and it is up in the air as to who actually holds these licenses now.

What is Capcom's stance on MVC3? Sven, I don't know you too well but the few posts I have read seemed decent and straightforward...give me something.

CONGRATULATION,YOU ARE THE SEVENTH MORON OF CAPCOM-UNITY ABOUT THE MARVEL LICENSE

Let me explain you since you know absolutly nothing;

-they is licenses for specific characters, the fighting license, the mmorpg license, ect

-the license for fighting games is the fighting games license. That the license that allow capcom to do fighting games with marvel characters, including the vs series

-activision own the rights for spider-man and x-men specific games. The rest of the marvel characters,it a permission thing since both have a great relationship^mua is a statement of that^

-all marvel video games license doesn`t contradict with any other,so if capcom want to make mvc3,activision and gazillon wont do jack **** because it out of the contract that capcom and marvel may do

So it simple...activision isn`t concerned at all by capcom desicion, plus they still have the right for spider-man and x-men specific games until 2017.So stop wasting my time^i sick of always re-telling because some people are morons^
