We get this suggestion a lot (HD Remix for 3s), and we've considered it.  Some of our concerns are the same as those already mentioned here:  3s had a huge number of animated frames, making it very expensive and time-cosuming to "HD Remix."  It was a popular game with a dedicated constituency, but was also pretty alienating to newer players, but mostly I think we just have a lot of offerings for dedicated Street Fighters, right?  There's HD Remix, SFIV, and MVC2, just to name a few, and there may be some more good news for Capcom fighting fans in the future... who knows? Cool

Ask me about my beard.  Or don't.  It's cool either way.

hmm...those HD sprites are a breath of fresh air...but then again....the amount of time and money it would to produce a title as ambitious as "SFIII third strike HD remix" is very high.

But you never know.....capcom could suddenly have the budget of a god and decide to give back to the dedicated few.

And hey, maybe...a POWER STONE 3???

OH THANK YOU SETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol i knew it was just a matter of time......now my 2 cents......I dun't want to see this game HD remix...the art style was way 2 beautiful....please just do the filters on this game.....and definetly and I mean definetly do the wide screen zoom in just like HD remix...coupled with online lobbies and a training mode....WOW make our dreams come true...and to justify this whole experiment think about this.....

sure SF3 was not popular or was not accepted by the majority of the fans...but guess what all of the hardcore fans are older now and we have the cash and give you guys full support since you always take care of us.....you have my sale with every future SF release.......and SF3 is big now since you guys have brought back SF and the fighting genre all by yourselves......the fighting genre is on your shoulders to carry.....and SF3 is a def go......SFIV dash update would also be immense....or maybe just a whole new SF game...not sure what you guys think....

It doesn't need new art. Just toss in the filters from MVC2 and HD Remix's online and you're good.

They could do that, and chances are they will. BUT, theres a slight problem.

Like people have been saying, we already got a pretty hefty filling of Street Fighter to last us a while, I mean people have been playing 3rd Strike for ten years now and now SFIV is out, it doesn't compare to 3rd Strike but still, enjoy what you got for now, and when the vibrating chairs in the capcom office break down we'll see 3rd Strike again Wink

I totally agree that just filters would do combined with online play and maybe some new intros/endings to tie in SFIV better and pave the way for SFV.

Also I would suggest waiting at least a year to announce because of the aforementioned glut of Capcom goodness already here and coming soon.

You're probably right. I'm willing to wait because I'd like to see the game rebalanced in the way Super Turbo was. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE 3s, but Genei Jin and Houyoku Sen are BS. On the opposite side, less useless Super Arts (I'm looking at you, Blue Nocturne) or less Super Arts that don't get picked because they're not worth the meter (Shoryu Reppa) would be good too.

Take the time and effort that went into that sprite and multiply it by what could very well be a few thousand - that's the level of work it'd take to redraw the game in full, so I'm not sure that "could still be" would apply here.

wait, what?
