We get this suggestion a lot (HD Remix for 3s), and we've considered it.  Some of our concerns are the same as those already mentioned here:  3s had a huge number of animated frames, making it very expensive and time-cosuming to "HD Remix."

- OK, so Mega Man II HD is better? :|

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike isn't anywhere near as popular (in general, not in fan circles) and the animations are far, FAR more fluid (meaning considerably more effort is needed to redo them).  It also has more characters than Super Turbo.  It would be far more work for them to remake the game in HD, and the return wouldn't be nearly as high as it was for the HD Remix they've already made.

Right. Most popular Street Fighter + low frames = profit. Least popular Street Fighter + High frames = big loss, and sfiii's death. It would make no sense for them to do this. Also think about TvC, MvC2, sfiv, and sfii HD Remix being out in the same climate. Everyone has their Street Fighter fill for the moment, to release sfiii again now would be a very stupid idea.

Are you blind? I take it you haven't look at the SF IV gudie booklet. If you did your SF homework you notice that SF 3 Third Strike holds the record of having most tournaments then any other SF game in the series. Plus the most funniest to play out of the whole series. SF3 also have the BEST gameplay then all of the SF games combine.

Are you on drugs??!!! Do you knwo how many people video tape, went to tounaments, and played 3rd Strike at home late at night until the next morning? 3rd Strike holds the most tournaments held out of any SF game develop. So, that tells you that 3rd strike is the best of all time.

Although I myself like Third Strike, there are some comments that say "SFIII was what made SF drop dead for 10 years". I've seen SFIII tournies being held a lot around my area though, now that SFIV came out, some people went to SFIV and play it a lot. I know some who use SFIII and SFA for some practice...

SFIII is a great game though, but I don't expect any HD treatments for SFIII right at the moment...

It's good to see that S-kill said that it's being taken into thought...

The only problem the casual player has with Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, or even Street Fighter III in general, is that 90% of the characters are brand new.

Think about it, nobody's ever really played the first SF (kind of a lie, but it's more obscure than the others) so it didn't matter that SF II got a new roster of characters, but every casual player has played the SF II and SFA games and knows all of those characters, and then they play SF III and are turned off because of the amount of new characters. The casual player doesn't wanna learn every movement of every character, he just wants to get in a fight and win, and in a game like Street Fighter you won't get past the fourth fight in Arcade Mode without mastering that character.

Thats why I think Capcom is reluctant to give SFIII a re-release, because other than Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Akuma (I might be missing a few, probably not, but it's been a while) none of the characters are all that familiar.

But who knows, as I said before, when the vibrating chairs break, we may get our game.

If Capcom and Backbone came out with 3rd Stirke HD,honestly I would find myself playing that waaay more then SF4. The reaosn is that SF4 is too old school and play a lot like SF EX Plus series. The character roster is not that great. Plus the storyline is not hot at all. I would thing Capcom would go forward in the storyline then going back in time.

The graphics looks great and all, but the gameplay does not impress me like 3rd Stirke did. Now, if SF4 had the parry system then maybe I would like it a little bit more, but having old characters and old gameplay is boring to me.

Top it off you only get 1 super art and one Ultra move. At least in 3rd Stike you able to pick from 3 super arts in which you change yoru style of play.

The fun factor for SF4 is very low as well. When you hear about a new fighting game you want more new stuff then old stuff. The parry system was an excellent defensive system in any fighting game, next to the "just defense system" in SNK, SF4 should of continue to use the parry system with some added new moves. Like the focus system....in which is so so okay.

Whenever SF5 comes out I hope Capcom add a lot more new characters and add better gameplay.    :D

But after all this time you would think that people are familiar with SFIII, right my friend?
