I was toying with the possibility of a computer games company (who better than capcom!? Cool ) to create a game, quite possibly an rts but most genres would work. Anyway taking that example the game would be set in the future, over a war-torn earth and the battle between various civilisations or armies, for example the robots that take over the earth versus invading aliens. Anyway the game has several different armies or civilisations or whatever, and each of these are designed by different games companies, including the 'AI'. Obviously there are set rules in which they can design the army, just as warhammer has set points so combatants are as fairly matched as possible. It would work well played online, with fans fighting for their favourite faction, or possibly even able to create their own.

Fan feedback is always appreciated in the industry, yet offering ideas tends to be frown upon due to potential legal issues and other nasty problems. Yes, I know, it's unfortunate as there are some fantastic ideas out there for new titles and for existing ones.

Like how many DMC fans would easily put the series back on track plot-wise...:P

Maybe some day you'll end up working for a games company who can help your idea grow in to reality? ;]

I really hope so!! That would be awesome!  What's the best way to get into the industry? I have a little programming experience but I'd really like to just design the games and do artwork etc. I was thinking about making manuals for games as if they were already made and sending them to different games companies.

The best way (at least the safest way, but still not a certified guarantee) would be through education. ;]

I know it's a generic and easy-way-out answer, but it's the one path that can at least guide you to your destination. A lot of video game art courses especially have links to the industry in the form of work experience, guest lecturers/tutors etc. A great way to make contacts, possibly get scouted (if you're darn awesome).

If you're deadly serious, look in to some courses on the 'net to find one that plays off your current strengths.
