I'd never thought I hear this. EVER.  I hate it when people lie their **** off. ASK ANY ****ING ONE what MK is all about...IT IS ABOUT BLOOD AND GORE PERIOD.

Again, no it's not. You need to know the difference between what it's famous for and what it's about. In this case, it's NOT about blood and gore and that's no lie.

And that is one of the reasons it fails.  Again I am not the only one that thinks this way...oh and MK hasn't been famous for a while now...

Rhuen : Yep.

I don't give a darn if you're not the only one who thinks that way, it's still ignorant to say such a thing.

You're starting to sound like a hater now.

It's not about the blood and gore AFTER you get into it. The senseless violence is what got people interested in the first place. Most people never even gave a damn about the engine and how it works at first.

I bought the last couple of Mortal Kombat games partly because of the slapstick violence in them and also because Mortal Kombat games look cool and are fun to play, too.

I think a lot of people play buy MK games for these reasons- similar to (but not the only reasons) why people buy the GTA games.

If people didn't care about the engine then the series still be as successful as MK2. Sure, the blood and gore was what drew people in but some of those people still cared about the gameplay. That's why the MK games are still said be fun to play.

Gen's Shoe/Mammoth Tank/JulinJuni/ I have a thousand names and keep changing them every week :razzy: ...is a tad ignorant with that post. I've read UMK3 has depth to it, thus considered the best sequel in the series.

Another thing, MK2 was beating out SF2 in the US arcades, thus the desperation attempt known as ST. But what game really prospered in the end...SF.

I tend to like both MK and SF equally. They both each got their flaws but I always considered them equal.

I never liked the idea of "Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat"

yes they can easily change the small differences in game play if they did a 2-D fighter, heck that might even pull in older fans of the series to do a new one like that. and blocking changed from a button push to d-pad backwards isn't a major issue.

But back to the original sentence. Given the magic, sci-fi, and immortals, and such, elements of Mortal Kombat I'd think a "Mortal Kombat vs Capcom" would be better. That way you could sneak in more mystical characters. and maybe try the even out like roster they had for X-men vs Street Fighter (where the two sides were like universe mirrors of each other, maybe of course not in actual movesets but character types).

I wouldn't mind if they made a Mortal Kombat vs. Capcom either.

Fool. You are talking about Ludo he has 12000 posts.  When did I insult UMK3?  Srsly man MK=Violence.  Most of the MK fans hated Mk vs Dc you are alone.

Anyway you are a FOOL (guy with the generic Rock avy) for thinking MK isn't or was never about the violence...(I mean dude TALK ABOUT denial)

some reviews...

xbox360.ign.com/objects/853/853443.html<...

www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/mortalkombat...

"Of course, past Mortal Kombat games have been known as much for their over-the-top gore as for their gameplay, and for those fans who feel this is an intrinsic part of what makes Mortal Kombat what it is, MK vs. DC will be disappointing. While there are still ridiculous amounts of blood that go flying each time you so much as punch your opponent, you won't see any comically grisly beheadings, dismemberments, and other bombastic acts of violence that have characterized the series. The victor still gets the opportunity to pull off an extremely painful fatality or, in the case of the good guys on the DC side, a heroic brutality. Many of them are clever and funny, but they're still far tamer than what we've seen in the past. Ultimately, this change doesn’t impact the gameplay itself, but that gore is part of the MK experience, so the way it's been toned down here may turn some fans off."...

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe feels a bit like a mutant of a game. On one hand, the fighting mechanics are solid and fun and represent a refreshing return to the fundamental strengths that made Mortal Kombat's gameplay so compelling in the first place. On the other hand, the shift in tone from completely insane amounts of gore to only outrageous amounts of blood will put off some fans of the series’ usual ultra-violence. Newcomers, on the other hand, will have little trouble button-mashing their way through the game's single-player offerings, but may find it difficult coming to grips with the more technical aspects of the gameplay necessary to get the most from the multiplayer. If the idea of beating the hell out of Liu Kang with Lex Luthor (or vice versa) appeals to you and you don't mind going online for serious competition, you'll find a satisfying fighting game in this strange but enjoyable crossover.
