If a third strike HD remake were to be made, any chance it would be a retail release?

I really hate downloading games, I prefer retail hard copy disk, and so do many people, so i was wondering if an HD remix for SF3 was coming out, any chance that we can get both retail and download?

An HD Remix on SF3 would be a challenge in and of itself given the number of frames of animation and effects that would have to be redone, especially in light of what we learned on SSF2THDR. As such, the very nature of the project you're suggesting is somewhat unlikely.

But if it were to happen, I would suspect a retail release would also be unlikely given our current strategy for Remixes.

Man, SFIII doesn't need an HD Remix, the game is beautiful as-is. The filters and such from MVC2's re-release would be all that's needed.

Yeh but then there would be no reason for me to buy it since I already own SF3 on XBox.

You wouldn't want it with the HDR netcode and features?

What about everyone else? And the filters are just as good, since people complained that sfiihdr looked like a low budget flash game.

When Marvel vs Capcom 2 does well with the current feature set (filters+netcode), that would make a compelling case for SF: Third Strike in the same fashion...

I dont care about everybody else. I would be less inclined to buy a port w/ filters of Sf3, because I already have the game, and the filter the game comes with is more than enough. The only reason I would buy it is because of online. If it was retail and HD remixed though I would buy it at 60 bucks day one.

Given the recent excitement and build-up to SF4 for PC I was going to create a topic outlining what people thought if Capcom were to release an "SF arcade favourites collection", containing the HD versions of the favourite SF arcade games for console and PC release.

It would be so awesome to see the arcade version of 3rd Strike in full HD glory at 720p/1080p with the ability to go online and play. That game still looks very impressive even today with the animations and colours, plus, the gameplay just feels....perfect.
