Will the PC ver. have text chat support?
I never play online with 360 games because of the mandatory Voice Chat requirement.
I am hoping the PC ver. will at least have in-game text chat, like every other multi-player PC game (that Ive played, at least).

I only really want one thing, super smooth mouse response. So something like Mass Effect's implemenation to name another console to PC port.

I actually bought RE4 PC in anticipation of this game.  See, that's my show of support to Capcom. Tongue out

Are Capcom able to confirm that this will be a GFW LIVE title yet as those achievements on the X360 version were an integral part of the gameplay as they enabled you to fully play 100% of the content. Without striving for the full 1K achievements (before the DLC) gamers would be missing out on half the fun.

I must have spent a solid month on RE5 X360 version because of the achievements alone adding so much extra replay value. I can guess that PC gamers will feel slightly let down if they complete it only once and do not return for the achievements & unlockables as they really were a massive part of the 360 version.

If not a GFWL title I may not even bother as the 360 version is pretty good so apart from upgraded gfx not much reason for me to purchase.

Please can you let whoever decides these things that GFWL would be a big selling point!! To give you an example I am still playing Lost Planet Extreme Colonies a year later vs X360 players to get all 1K achievements.

Thank You

I have to agree with Paul, i hope this is a GFWL title cause it just makes sense with the co-op and achievements. A game like this needs its replay value and the achievements will def help boost what is already a great package. I guess time will tell. Im already thrilled that SF4 is GFWL.. its a shame that Bionic commando isnt but i will still buy that as well.

It will uses GFWL from what I recall reading?

I personally don't like achievements, but if they sell more PC copies, than cool.  I amount them to that little sticker or happy face the teacher would give when I did something good in school decades back.

What really bothers me about them, is when they make the game easier when I'd like more of a challenge. This was a problem with Mass Effect, a game that was already a bit too easy with the PC version -- it didn't need GFWL btw. So the last thing I want is some silly achievement making RE5 easier, especially when I'm not sure how their mouse support will be, or if they're going to rework the AI to be smarter and faster to accommodated this sort of input...  Besides, my friends are all too old to care if I unlocked some silly game award and none of them are on GFWL. But if it sells more PC copies, I hope it's included.  ;)

You do not need GfWL for achievements. Considering that most people do not give a damn about the pointless e-penis contest that is the gamerscore, I wouldn't think imposing GfWL's limitations on people would be worth it just for that.

I only have PC version of RE4, although I was surprised at the lousy, graphically inadequate port after a while I came to realize that keyboard only was much more precise and responsive than any mouse implementation would have been. There is also a mod to assign keyboard letters to ingame buttons and large mods(over 1GB) to upgrade graphics and sound.

You can thank Ubisoft for that particularly lousy port. If you want a clear image of what RE5 PC will be like, look at DMC4.

As someone pointed out, we didn't gimp PC performance to keep the game in lockstep with the consoles. It will make excellent use of the capabilities of newer cards, running at higher framerates, higher quality anti-aliasing, higher resolutions, etc.

Imagine running it at 1080p native (or higher), at 60fps, with 8X AA - in 3D (if you've got the right rig). The result is astonishing.

My monitor dosent support more than 1280x1024.. So if i run it in 1280x1024 with 8xaa will it have bettet graphics than console version?? And i heard that 3D glasses will work only on VistaYell Is that true? If yes then that will be a big problem, most people(including me dont use vista because they have a LOT of compatiblity issues not to mention that they need at least 2 times more powerful pc to run same game than you need in windows xp.

What about my perfomance?
I have Athlon x2 4400 2,2 ghz

2 gb ram

8800 gt 512

will it be able to play at max settings 1280x1024 8xaa+ 3d??

It will look better since consoles run the game at 720p natively. Will you be able to run it at 8xaa... i doubt it. I would assume for your specs possibly 4xAA would be your break point. As for the 3D im not familiar with that tech to be honest so i dont know how much it effects performance and such.
