Since consoles have 4-5 times less CPU and GPU power than the average PC will the RE5 PC version be also superior and upgraded like a lot of other games that got multiplatformed were? |

Most PC ports do have options for higher resolutions and better quality textures, I wouldn't worry too much about that. And PCs need more power than consoles because they have to run OS's and several hundred background services. =) |

As someone pointed out, we didn't gimp PC performance to keep the game in lockstep with the consoles. It will make excellent use of the capabilities of newer cards, running at higher framerates, higher quality anti-aliasing, higher resolutions, etc. Imagine running it at 1080p native (or higher), at 60fps, with 8X AA - in 3D (if you've got the right rig). The result is astonishing.

I agree. I'm simply addressing the TC's implied point that PCs and consoles are 1:1 in terms of specs vs graphics. Can't wait for RE5 on PC! Waiting on my 9800GTX to get here... |

I also wanted to chime in and say the "3D silliness" is actually pretty eye-popping. I've played the shantytown courtyard scene hundreds of times, and with the 3D on I was in love all over again. For comparison, if you've seen "Up" in regular and 3D, everyone agrees the 3D is a lot more fun. RE5 is like that, except instead of the occasional 3D effect, the entire game pops. Not everyone will want the monitor and glasses required, but I definitely encourage you to at least check it out at a retailer display--totally worth it.

Considering how phenomenal SF4 looks on PC, you've just made me unbelievably excited. |

I hope to see some enhanced textures and perhaps new graphic features as well. I know both Lost planet & DMC4 had much better textures, shadows, and shader effects, and some DX10 exclusive features. So heres to hoping to see something great things as well. But all in all the most important thing is just to optimize the game which i know Capcom will handle it with care. Best of luck with the game and im very excited to get further details in the future.

Yes, I hope the actual textures will be upgraded, not just multiplied AA , resolution and similar stuff. I presume they had it during the development in anticipation of PC release. After all it was made on PCs and even at the time of development PC's hardware was much superior to consoles. And yes, I know of several games that got advanced graphical upgrades through patches, for example, Company of Heroes got DX10 support through huge patches(I think it was more than 2GB total).
