I mean, look at him. I just can't get over how huge he is, it's just too much. It's unreasonable.

I agree, I don't understand why they made such an obvious mistake, especially after perfect Leon in RE4.

The orginal concept for Chris was for him to be a very muscular guy. I guess the dev team just decided it was time to make good on that concept.

Now Playing: Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3, Need for Speed Shift, Call of Duty 4, Battle Stations Pacific.

If I got my butt handed to me by someone like Wesker I would be hitting the gym a lot also.

Before Resident Evil 5 was made and Chris Redfield was going to be brought back Chris had a different job. He was training to play Gutsman in the next-gen Mega Man 9.

Hey, why not? How many androgenous emo protagonists do we really need?

I'm all for bringing back the massive Arnold-esque action heroes.

I don't like that they made Chris all macho-buff either. He looks really gross (his arms are all beefy-veiny >_>).
But that's pretty much done with now... can't do much to change it. Unless, they release optional DLC to make Chris slim (:p).

Though, I don't really get the point of Chris' working out and muscles. It looked pretty silly when he was getting beat up by a skinny-man. :P

Meh, his build doesnt really matter that much. he could be Skinnier and if he was running around and punching zombies in the face he would still be awesome.

It's not the body size it's a characters actions that make them cool, but at least with Chris all beefed out it looks a little bit more realistic for him to knock someone back a couple of feet. Or punch a boulder that should weigh a good 3 tons into some lava.

the topic creator has probably never been to the gym in his life nor probably even worked out ever.... so anyone with muscles = steroids to him..... if he seriously took steroids 24/7 for 5 years... he would be alot bigger... like RON COLEMAN huge.... Chris Redfeild  build is pretty modest for a guy to work out religiously for 5 years.... he'd have to be in shape for his job ya know'??
