Simon Viklund BC:R statement?

According to a minor post regarding Simon Viklund, speeking that if he could remake another classic title, he would like it to be Blaster Master. Is this accurate? And would Capcom sanction it (with it being SunSoft's title) by obtaining Blaster Master Copy Rights?

1) no idea if it's accurate--link? 


2) Simon Viklund works for GRIN, not actually Capcom.  GRIN made BCR and BC for Capcom, but they're their own shop, so they'll have non-Capcom projects too. 


3) BlasterMaster--yeah, not a Capcom game, so we really have no say in it.  I'd probably play it if it did come out though!

I was just wondering yesterday if Sunsoft still owns the rights to Blaster Master because I'd love to see a new installment.


But please not Grin. If it ever does happen, I hope someone like Inti Creates get the contract.

Out of curiosity, have you played Blaster Master: Blasting Again for PS1? Doesn't quite live up to the original, but it's a decent diversion for the $5 or less you might end up paying for it now.

I haven't. I skipped the N64/PS1 gen because I thought the games were ugly and crude. (That's not a damning criticism of the gen. I knew it was a necessary stage in the evolution of games.) And honestly my attitude towards that gen hasn't changed. It's just one of those things.
