Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Retail Pack on GameStop; is this true?

On Destructoid, they posted that there's going to be a Retail Version of the game (but you still download it, as you're given a code) that includes the following:

  • Redemption code for Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  • DVD case with sleeve
  • DVD with exclusive artwork such as wallpapers, icons, art, trailers and screenshots
  • Eight page color manual with artwork and moves list
  • One month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics valued at $9.99
  • 2000 Capcom-Unity points that can be used for prizes and auctions

It also states the game will be out August 13th. Is this true for the downloadable version? I should mention that is is only for the PlayStation 3. Here's the GameStop link.

Also, if it true that you get Capcom Unity points, that's awesome & I hope you give points out for people buying other Capcom games.

I don't see why Gamestop would lie. They have had downloadable games or content in stores before.

I have also seen what you are talking about. I dont think they would get us excited for nothing.

my question on this is , barring this is real...would a 360 version for this be a no brainer? It would be kinda silly not to do the whole multi platform thing on it,  right?

I really hope they do this for the 360... or else I might buy the pack and sell the code. Or maybe just keep it to run on my PS3... and still buy the 360 version for online... decisions decisions.

I hope they will be a pack for the 360,because my copy of mvc2 is broken for the ps2.

Still, capcom really listened to my demand if the pack is true.

The thing I find odd is that the deal that Capcom made w/ Marvel was that it WASN'T going to be retail. Yes, you download the game via code that you receive & not a disk, but it's still going to be in stores. *Shrugs* Not that big of a deal, at least you get some neat stuff.

It could very well be a Sony exclusie, I don't see why GameStop would upload one version and not another version at the same time.

Edit: The plot thickens, GameStop removed the listing.

Well, it might be PS3-exclusive as Sony has started offering games like Patapon 2 that gives you a code to download the game at stores. Not to mention that the MvC2 was ONLY on PS3.

Update: It appears that GameStop has removed the product from their site. Perhaps it was meant to be revealed later?
