Someone on gamefaqs.com posted a link that says that Onimusha is being made for the PSP.

Translated :

It's told from the producer of Onimusha in an interview on June 23 in Japan. He said it will use Shin Onimusha's game engine. It's not just a port but it will surpass the previous titles. He also mentioned another big title is under development but refused to tell the name. He said he can't tell any other details except that Onimusha Portable is confirmed to be released. More news will come by end of 2009.

Hope this is true, I've been waiting for a new Onimusha for awhile!

I reckon u should still pick up onimusha 3 but. I know the english audio is crap, but I still went through it coz it had Samanosuke. But no 2 I didn't pick it up coz it didn't had samanosuke lol.

But yea, please release new onimusha, it's been a while since the last game (2006?)

lol as much as you want, I still think the teaser page is about Onimusha. And regardless of what you remember, I'm pretty sure the other two dates (1573 and 1582) match Onimusha 2 and 3.
