Its onimusha definitly.
Just check again, the date is now 1582
1560: onimusha
1573: end of onimusha 2
1582: onimusha 3
if the next date is 1597 ( dawn of dreams)
then we know it for sure.

onimusha 4!

Perhaps now we will finally find out what samanosuke did at the end of onimusha 3, before becoming the monk in dawn of dreams, or perhaps its set after dawn of dreams.

You, my friend, are correct about the dates. So if the next one is 1597 (like you said), it confirms that a new Onimusha is going to be release. I was waiting for a new game in this series, and it seems Capcom would surprise all of us with more Onimusha action.

Can't wait for a "date" confirmation ^^

I wouldn't mind if it was on PS3/360 or PSP. Would be interesting to see what direction they'll take on it both gameplay and story wise if it's true.

Ok now i'm a bit confused, the date is 1600 now which indicates the battle of sekigahara and the start of the edo era. Dawn of dreams does end in like 1599 or something but that still not 1600.

Also the 1600 is gold, and 1582 is crossed out several times (maybe this meant skipping over dawn of dreams which was not a numerical entry in the series?), so I believe this might be the final date we get.

Seems to be Sengoku Basara related. I guess the site is doing what it should be.. gettin' the fans all worked up. I just hope its something that will see the light of day in the US.

I really hope it's onimusha.  I love that series.

The site now says 1600 where I did some japanese history.  Here is what happened in 1600 japan:

www.metmuseum.org/toah/ht/08/eaj/ht08eaj...

1600 Tokugawa Ieyasu (1542-1616) wins the Battle of Sekigahara, defeating his most serious rivals and emerging as the most powerful military leader. Three years later, the royal court recognizes his dominance and grants him the title of shogun. Ieyasu solidifies his political position by establishing his military government in Edo (modern Tokyo) and begins to reassign land possession in favor of himself and his supporters. It is not until 1615, however, one year before his death, that Ieyasu finally defeats all his competitors, when he routs the last of the Toyotomi and captures Osaka castle

In samurai warriors there is an ieyasu character who was known for his strange helmet.

onimusha 1-3 was oda nubanaga

onimusha 4 was hideyoshi

could onimusha 5 now be Ieyasu of the tokugawa clan?

I was wondering why capcom placed an x on the year 1582 4 times.

I was surprised to learn that in 1582 nobunaga dies.

1560:

1568 The military leader Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582), the first daimyo to achieve a dominant position among his rivals, takes control of Kyoto and installs Ashikaga Yoshiaki as the reigning but powerless shogun. The latter abdicates his position in 1573, ending the Ashikaga shogunate

1573:

1576 Oda Nobunaga begins construction on Azuchi castle, which will serve as his residence and seat of government, on the shores of Lake Biwa outside Kyoto. This imposing stone fortress (no longer extant) is decorated with sliding doors and folding screens painted by Kano Eitoku (1543-1590), who had been employed by the Ashikaga shoguns. The bright colors, bold brushwork, and glittering gold leaf of these paintings exemplify the magnificent artistic style characteristic of this period, known as Azuchi-Momoyama.

1582:

1582 Oda Nobunaga is assassinated. One of his generals, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1536-1598), seizes power and continues the process of subduing rival warlords through military or political means. Hideyoshi establishes his headquarters outside Kyoto in Momoyama

1600:

1600 Tokugawa Ieyasu (1542-1616) wins the Battle of Sekigahara, defeating his most serious rivals and emerging as the most powerful military leader. Three years later, the royal court recognizes his dominance and grants him the title of shogun. Ieyasu solidifies his political position by establishing his military government in Edo (modern Tokyo) and begins to reassign land possession in favor of himself and his supporters. AWESOME!!!! I can't wait for the announcement to come. Again I sure do hope this will be for ps3 instead of psp, just because of the lack of camera control due to limited buttons. BUT if they're gonna make it like onimusha 1 - 3 (where u dont control the camera), then yea, i dont mind it for psp.

Good job on finding out about the years guys. I just can't remember when they mentioned about it, all i remember is just that they mention nobunaga, hideyoshi and stuff.

But yeah, hopefully something will be revealed tomorrow :D
