I only own a Wii at the moment, because of financial issues, so I can only get my Capcom fix on the Wii so far this gen. Having Said that, however, I am not desperate enough for Capcom to port down RE5 and SFIV to Wii. If you want these games on a Nintendo system please wait till the next gen when Wii HD releases(whatever it will be called) and release them on there with added content or extras not found in the versions out now. RE5 could then look exactly as it does now, but with extra content along with Motion Control Aiming. I am not into Capcom sacrificing the quality of the graphics to port down to Wii. However, if Capcom wants to do an all new Resident Evil action horror game on the Wii(not the RE DC on rails shooter) from the ground up that would be great. Along the same lines if Capcom wanted to release a game similar to SF IV(not TvC) but with a 2D art style(maybe a prequel to SFIV???) that would be great also. I think Capcom has a policy in place now not to release exclusives, but Wii is so popular right now and the market so wide open that I think Capcom's internal Japanese studios could make an exception for the world wide leader whose user base is still growing. I would like to thank you for Wii support thus far, but I couldn't get into Dead Rising Wii. I read the reviews and compared it to the 360 version and instantly decided against the purchase. I am thankful for the RE4 Wii Edition, Zack and Wiki, Okami, Mega Man 9 and the upcoming Spyborgs and TvC games, but I think Capcom could do more on the Wii than they currently are. Sorry Capcom, but I cannot get into Monster Hunter or RE on rail shooter games, but I will still read reviews and consider purchasing those games when they finally released here in the States. Thanks again. |

HOWEVER A Wii version of SFIV would be the best version if you released it with a special single player mode that played more like Final Fight/a beat 'em up. I have SFIV for the 360, but I'd be all over a Wii version with a crazy off the wall mode like that. |

I find it hilarious that Sven quickly responded to a 'not port to Wii' topic with lighting speed while he continuously ignores all the other 'port to Wii' threads! Such a Wii(or Nintendo?) negativity from the official Capcom's site is at least unexcusable...

Maybe because the overall tone of travis post was much more appropriate than the usual hater-style on this board.

Though I can't speak from the perspective of someone who owns only a Wii, I agree with a lot of what the OP said. Games designed around a system's strengths and weaknesses are always preferable to a watered-down port that's struggling against its limitations. However, that's not to say things against improved ports of games that are still relevant! I find RE4 Wii's play style vastly superior to RE5... but do I want RE5 on Wii? Not so much. Using the example of TvC, it's a game that, to me, feels at home on Wii. Since the arcade hardware was Wii hardware, there's no loss in graphic quality, and the Classic Controllers does exactly what it needs to do. And get this: some of the Wii remote minigames are pretty fun! No lie. Sure, I'd prefer it on a console where I have an online friends list set up and all, but it is what it is and you know nutjobs like me are gonna buy it a second time no matter what. That brings me to another point: downgraded Wii ports will sell to the Wii-only owners, but what about those who have another choice of platform? When I get a 360 I'm definitely buying SF4 again so I could play with my whole group of friends. But would I buy SF4 for Wii? Not a chance. But it's a different kind of system, and when a game that has an experience you can't get elsewhere comes along (RE4 Wii is a good example, TvC not so much, but...), you better believe I'm gonna pick it up.
Facepalming over this! Please, no. Listen, guy, from one God Hand fan to another... we need more of that, not more tacked-on Tekken Force-type nonsense! So few people have managed to get the 3D beat 'em up right so far, something tells me that a bonus mode in a fighting game port won't be one of the ones to nail it.

Don't really see the problem with SFIV on the Wii... even the Producer implied it could be done. And the Wii Remote or Classic Controller would probably work far better for me than the Xbox 360 controller, which is my alternative. --LBD "Nytetrayn" |

Ono also implied a lot of other things that weren't totally true. Only time will tell though! And I can't say that the Classic Controller would be okay for me. Pressing two face buttons + one of those needlessly analog shoulder buttons for Ultras is less than ideal, and those Z1 and Z2 buttons are absolutely useless. |

I understand Resident Evil 5 not being on Wii because of the Ai (I'm still not buying the Menu Screen thing).
BUT Street Fighter IV is a different story. I'm looking at how Street Fighter 4 plays and looks and see that there is no excuse to port this game to Wii. TVC is a great game and after looking at that game and Street Fighter 4 I find it that it is possible to put that game on Wii. But Why? It's because of people fearing that it will be like Dead Rising: Chop Till you Drop. The Same only more BAD (and not in a good way). (sorry Capcom) I don't think Street Fighter will be THAT watered down. and don't play the "Graphics aren't that good on Wii" card. The Conduit and Super Mario Galaxy Prove that Wii is much more capable than people think. |

Sure, the hardware can do more than most devs will squeeze out of it, I'll give you that. The fact that it can't output HD resolutions would probably mean that reduced texture quality and even reduced model detail wouldn't hurt it quite as bad as it could, but if you think it can handle a straight port of SF4 as it is you have some weird ideas about that machine. It's not like "graphics aren't that good on the Wii" is something trolls repeat like "lol xbox breaks every 2 weeks" or "lol ps3 has no games." The machine is severely underpowered compared to what it's up against, and yeah, it sure makes a difference if you have an HD display. |
