I made a thread on this same issue before. The response I got was something like that the footage in that first video would be used for something else. I guess maybe that's what Sven's referring to, a new anime series that's not below budget - I don't see how the in-game cutscenes could not under budgeted. Or, Seth, did you mean that Studio 4° themselves were just lazy despite the adequate budget? You should ask for your money back if that's the case. A bit miffed because that's almost like false advertising, nonetheless happy that we'll be getting some more SF media. |

Gotta say though, the art is better in-game than the preview vid. It's the animation, the story, storytelling, the editing, the style, and most importantly the fight choreography that is just fantastic in the preview that blows everything else out of the water. The Ties that Bind seemed to have done all that it could to refuse any fight scenes being shown on screen o_0, which was the most irritating part of the movie. SFA:OVA did the same thing - what is it with Street Fighter and its adaptations that people keep avoiding the damn fight scenes for? Can anyone exlplain? SFII: The Animated Movie still reigns supreme after like 15 years for good reason. |

I disagree with the art being better, I actually think its quite ugly, just compare the preview vid C-Viper with the one from Ties that Bind, I feel she looks far more aesthetically pleasing there. Same for everyone else. |

Ryu, Ken and Akuma look better though, especially their musculature. In the previews Ryu's body looks a bit chubby. |

The Ties that Bind was a good anime. The animation was good. The couple fights in it were great. I really believe studio 4c has what it take to make a long running anime series. Now i don't understand why studio 4c will use bad quality animation when they were given a big budget. Maybe they focused more on the ties that bind than on the anime prologues and endings? Guess we will never know, unless Seth or Sven do tell us :P Oh and btw, Street Fighter new anime tv Series(made in japan) ftw, make it happen Capcom for the love of everything that is noble. |

There were very little fights at all in TTB, none were worth mentioning. Ryu vs Viper? Ryu barely even starts before Cammy butts in. Cammy vs Viper? Totally one sided. Chun Li & Sakura vs Guards? The fights finished before we even get to see it. Ryu vs Seth? Seth uses Ryu as a punching bag, Ryu does nothing except fire a single hadouken that just ends the whole fight anti-climactically. They did everything they could to not show a decent fight. Ryu gets interrupted just when he was about to get serious, it gets substituded with a fight that is not even a good match. The Chun Li and Sakura fight against the guards happened off screen. The fight with Ryu against Seth they gave Ryu an emo moment so that he does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING at all for most of the fight. It's kind of obvious they didn't bother to get a decent anime fight choreographer hence why they avoided it. They had one for the previews - but then didn't use him for the movie? |

A new Street Fighter Anime aftermath video was released today. this time featuring Sakura. The video is again aproof that these aftermath videos are AWESOME I really don't know why they didnt make the anime prologues and endings within the game with the style of these aftermath vids. Especially that they were given enough budget. For the sake of comparison here is Sakura in game prologue:
I hope my dream comes tru and we see a long running SF anime series in the aftermath videos style |
