www.edge-online.com/news/warner-was-sole... What about Midway did Capcom not want any part off? One of the greatest fighting franchises ever gets one bid? |

There's a LOT of ex-Midway people in Capcom's offices currently (me, my boss, our vp of PD and vp of marketing among them), so we have a pretty good idea of where the company's value lies and it wasn't a good match for our needs. Frankly, we've got plenty of our own fighting franchises, and the value of MK to Capcom versus to a company that doesn't have established franchises in the space is somewhat different. I do wish the folks still there good luck. There are still some good people there.

Indeed, I hope that Midway will be able to turn itself around and become the company I used to have a certain fondness for. Besides which, unless I missed something in the bankruptcy proceedings, whoever inherits Midway is also going to inherit their debt-- something I think Capcom neither needs nor wants, if I had to guess. --LBD "Nytetrayn" |
