DMC4 is a great game. I agree that it lacks something DMC3 has, but whatever... i wouldnt mind if DMC5 were like DMC4 but slightly better (better campaign, customizable Bloody Palace). |

If it is to be the sequel to DMC4 it is quite obvious that it will consist of such improvements. Since it 'improved' from DMC3. So it is rhetorical to expect small improvements since they are a given. It is the larger ones that cause for criticism/concern...

The mechanics were almost the same as it was in DMC3, except with broken moves (and glitches), Dante had very little comboability than in DMC3 (except for Nero), fewer weapons than in DMC3, tedious control scheme with triple weapon and style switching which hampered the game's addictive quality - and a less than thrilling story. There were no improvements in DMC4 but a bakward step in almost every category - even the proud soul idea was crap, what point was there to have two currencies? DMC4 even ditched DMC3's exp based levelling up system for the styles... why? After you defeat all the enemies in the room you can't finish with a taunt based on how high your style meter is but it resets and you can't do it anymore unlike in DMC3 - GOD! DMC4 got things wrong right down to the most littlest things. If they move forward the starting point should be DMC3 and not the halfassery that was DMC4. |
