GGPO for SF4 Dash

I'm with the rest, better netcode would be appreciated.

I mean, SF4 in it's current incarnation is decent, I went from being a scrub who hardly played a fighter in a decade to really enjoying this game, it's just about all I've played since it came out a few months ago. And after all that time being spent trying to get good at the game, it just seems the online play isn't holding up as well as I'd like. Going from online to playing with a group of friends or at an arcade takes a bit of time to adjust, and then going back to online is frustrating because what I just learned isn't possible with the timing differences between my pressing a button and the game reacting to my reaction. Unless it's a five bar connection it isn't quite the same game. Meanwhile doing the same with SSF2THDR still feels almost the same, the difference is still imperceptible to me and HDR is still able to do that while also allowing a few friends to join in and watch via lobbies.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to the next version of four. Gameplay changes, new characters, that stuff is  cool and all. But if you want to get me (and I'm sure a bunch of other folks) excited, the big feature I'm looking forward to is improved netcode. I hope you guys will let know whoever needs to know that we want the use of GGPO, anything else is just gravy.

I agree. There's no reason not to use GGPO; the solution that Capcom Japan came up with on their own is way inferior.

First let me say that I love Street Fighter 4.  I'm one of the many old school fighting game players who used to play in their teenage years and played in local tournaments when arcades were still around.  As arcades died my interest in fighting games went down hill.  I have been playing in the MMO scene for a real long time 10+ years.   And i will say that Street fighter 4 has brought me back to my old street fighter days.

That being said i have one gripe about your game and that's it's net code and gaming options for online play.  I would really like to see lobbies and arcade quarter style play,  4-8 people to a lobby with winner stays loser pays rule set,  Speculation would also be a huge plus.  While i have always loved street fighter regardless of what it looked like, and i played a lot more casually in my 10 year hiatus.  This is the game that can turn the fighting game from niche appeal to mainstream.  I've been playing fighters alot harder and missing raids on my current MMO cause I'm just having so much fun with this game.  In your next installment please improve the net code and add better online game play modes (Lobbies/spectator/quarter style play)

Definitely support the idea of GGPO.

And I, too would like to see a 6-8 player lobby instead of just the current 2.

And if possible, tweak the search results for finding games. A large number of people who set their stuff to "Fight Request" I can never connect to, and they will CONSTANTLY show up on my quick match list, and never go away. (Custom search is almost useless because by the time it's done searching, the only good available game is full).

Other than that I love the game.

It's time to move SF to the next era.  Everything is online now.  SF4 is great, but it could be better.  For players who don't know what ggpo, do a little google search and try it out.  You'd be suprise at what that technology can do.

I hope you can improve on the current netcode through a patch.  But for me, if SF4 "dash" isn't up to par with gppo netcode, this will be the last SF I'll play.

To me it'd seem they'd been listening ever since this was first requested. Doesn't mean it'll happen, though. Capcom Japan is a weird and xenophobic beast (still no digitally distributed DMC4, SF4 apparently not available on Steam in Japan, etc.).

1. GGPO netcode or something similar

2. lobbies with 4-8 people (including quarter match and spectating)

3. option to save replays after every single match

please Capcom, add these features!

I have to agree as well.  SF4 is a great game, (bought ps3 360 and pc versions!) but the online experience is easily the worst thing about it.  I can live with the inut lag, but 1v1 lobbies are not the way to go, I hate that the available games list rarely ever shows more than 3 games, I don't understand why if it finds no available games it doesn't just keep searching instead of forcing me to confirm another search.  Make it keep searching and let me cancel it if i want to.  I also hate getting kicked back out to the top menu instead of just leaving me in player match or championship mode that I was in already.  It's like nobody did any usability testing on it.  Please Please Please listen to us!

First post hi all

game is great but online experience sucks, it is so annoying to search anything: character, players, replays and so on

Why there is no session/match search filter by player name, character, bp, gp, ping?

why there is only three items in the session/match search result??? arghh it is painfulllll!!!!!!! no filter arghh more pain!!!!!

There is imposibble to browse replays argh, while you find one which you want to see (for example replay no. 67), after watching it you are landing at the top of the list so you need go trough 67 replays to see next, and with loading after each 15 items from list this is VERY painfull process - why list is not updating in real time, do you try to save our bandwitch?

after played a match with someone game throw me out at the "choose game mode" screen, i was thinking that it is a bug or something, but it seems that game was designed in that way - sick...

THERE IS NO CHAT in the lobby/match, wtf ? it is 2009!!! people are writing that kind of thing for fun in home after hours (GGPO)

those are my thougs after few matches online, i am afraid what will be my opinion after few more weeks

Game itself is great i am really enjoing it, but online wow CAPCOM do you realise that you are killing SFIV online, it is so painfull thing to do (play online) that i need to force myself to start to search some games...

do something with this pls
