When do we get a Resident Evil Fighter game?

But that's all assumption. How do you know this game would be bad? How do we know it would eat up funds from the reboot. But that's not the point i'm making.

While a Full Fledge RE fighting title would be a bit much. What he is asking for can easily be solved by just adding more resident evil characters to Capcom's Vs series.

Lets say a MvC3 come out. Would there really be a problem if capcom added Wesker as well as Chris Redfield to fight alongside Jill and all the other Capcom character's from various games.

That's the best compromise I can think of.

Sure there isn't a RE fighting game but the OP gets to play a fighting with Residet Evil characters.

Seems like the best of both worlds to me.

mmmm, I'd rather they not go this way with the franchise.

if you want to go nuts with a Resident Evil game, with fighting game elements. Then how about we make one where we insert Lord Raptor into Resident evil using all his moves and powers to score big in the zombie apocalypse world?

Yeah, bring this up again. Imagine Grand Theft Auto...now imagine its Lord Raptor in a dark bleak mutant and  zombie infested world on fire and decaying, you "steal" a car, play our guitar, and morph your arms and legs into various buzz saw and chainsaw weapons to dismember annoying low brain zombies, mutants, and human survivors shooting at you.

I could so see Raptor breaking into a liquir store, slicing up zombies and people, eating souls, flying across big cracks in the roads, driving his car over zombies and people alike, not taking sides. an excuse for a crazy A-moral blood bath game LoL.

I think a RE themed fighter can be fun, if its done right.

Again, I point to Castlevania Judgement.

That's what you get when a series that was never meant to be a fighting game, becomes a fighting game.

Castlevania Judgment was horrid because it wasn't done right.
Very poor design and implementation with that game... (not to mention, Castlevania as a series was really starting to suffer as a whole, Judgement just put the final nail in the coffin. The reboot the series is getting now with Shadows was very much needed.).
Just because Judgment turned out the way it did, doesn't mean it will happen with another series based fighter.

Anyway, I don't expect an RE based fighter to ever surface, but its possible for a Smash Bros. type of thing to happen with most of Capcom's series. Now, that would be awesome.

Come on Super Rick, I love your post.

Eating up funds? REPEAT: Nothing done (created) with materials based on Resident Evil is WASTED!

Last time I checked everything has been profitable.

The crappy movies, gun survivor, outbreak, comics etc.

Once the fighting engine has been created it's all about character designs. Just a few bonus cookies such as bios, and a little new info based on the Resident Evil universe will make people buy this.

Guess what?

I'm not even a fighter fan!

I first played Street Fighter because it was the " IT " thing to play when it came out back in the early 90's. Mortal Kombat I played simply because of the media coverage (by no means was it ever a GREAT fighting game for controls and looks, the blood helped it in a big way).

If a Resident Evil fighter gets made, I'm dropping $50 to $60 to play it.

Because I did it with X-MEN, DC vs. Mortal Kombat, Maval vs. Capcom, etc. because these are other comic, video game, pop culture phenoms I am into.

The premise is there, enough material is there. This game could happen.

If you (or anyone) thinks this will take away from Resident Evil 6, well, hopefully Capcom knows better to have people around the clock working on their cash cows.......

....Street Fighter , Devil May Cry , Mega Man, and Resident Evil (IN ALL FORMS!!!)

3rd person (Reboot), rail shooters, toy line, clothing line, and even a FIGHTER game.

Yes! Because "Hey let's shoehorn this franchise into this genre!" is why they are now making another game where Sonic the Hedgehog is DRIVING a RACE CAR.

Like when they shoehorned Resident Evil in to the shooter genre?

Even a franchise like Mortal Kombat carried over into a 3rd person adventure game and worked.

All that matters as long as the story is there it can work.

Even Street Fighter could cross over into a 3rd person adventure game if Ryu was given a quest of "self-discovery".

Resident Evil will live forever in some many types of games because of the story.

I can imagine this as a "DARK" game. A "Dark" fighting game.

This could work on so many levels.
