I've recently come across this and apparently, SCEA has remastered God of War 1 and 2 (both PS2 titles), boosted up the graphics, and are bringing both games on 1 BluRay for the PS3 this holiday season with a price tag of $40.

Would you guys ever consider doing something similar with Devil May Cry 1, 2, 3? I think it'd be a great way to get people into the series. Some things that I would change would be with Devil May Cry 2. Get rid of the Lucia disc or change it to make it different. The only big thing that would be needed is to bump up the resolution to at least 720p and add in anti-aliasing to smooth up the graphics. Also, fast load times are a must.

If anything releasing something like this on both consoles would be better.

1) DMC4 is on 360 along with PS3.  If the collection was released for both, this would give a chance for those who have only experienced DMC on the Xbox to play the other 3 in the series.  Those who owned a PS2 didn't necessarily buy a PS3 next either as their "next-gen" console of choice.

2) More profit with an expanded choice of consoles to pick from.  Both the 360 and PS3 are similar enough to share the upgrades as well.

3) It's a collection, and since it's not a Sony exclusive franchise, it could be released on another system.  Example: The old Mega Man games on the NES were only released for it back then, but future collections had them on other systems in addition to Nintendo's.

Dude, that's exactly what i thought after reading about the remastered GoW collection!! I mean, it's no big deal, it's gonna be the same games, only running at 720p, with anti-alliasing, maybe some extra content, well that's all. I'm sure it wont be no problem for CAPCOM to do that. Also, i agree with the multi-plat release. Although i'm a PS3 owner, and always suported SONY, i think it's a great oportunitty for new to the series players, to experience the story, since DMC4 was for X360 too. I mean, for me it would mean a lot, DMC3 is my all favorite game, seriously! And with my ps2 being broken, i cant enjoy my fave game anymore. Atleast until CAPCOM make my wish come true i hope. I also think it's a great way to keep the many DMC fans pleased, new and old, until CAPCOM decides to announce DMC5, when it's time. Also, i know i ask too much, but trophies support would be great. But screw that, you know what would be awesome?? I always thought about it, VERSUS MODE!!! Imagine 1 vs 1 matches, chosing Dante or Vergil(any costume), chosing arena, and then showing to the world your skills!!! All of this online of course. Also, the last adittion i would want, would be DMC3 with style switch on the fly, like DMC4!! And if u guys cant fit all of this in a single blu-ray, just get rid of DMC2 from the collection. Hell, if u need to, take out DMC1 also. But please, at least make the remastered edition of DMC3, with as many of the above features i mentioned as possible! Most importantly, Boosted up graphics, 60 fps, online(pls CAPCOM), and style-swith, on the fly. Anyway, i hope you listen CAPCOM, and make the right choice. Just imagine the fans, especially the X360 ones, seeing the collection. They would go "OMG, here's a chance to experience the past games". Imagine the profits. You know DMC4 sold really good.

I'll be first in line for the God of War collection.

I don't want anyone reading this the wrong way (as I'm not saying anything like this could happen) but I'm seeing some interested for DMC to get this treatment... are there other titles you'd like see go this way? I'm looking for some temperature readings.

Hello This is Gaa

Gaa is very intersted in this news about god of war

Gaa will SAY RE series needs this kind of treatment

Do like a Capcom "best RE titles" from older PlayStation consoles put RE4, Code Veronica, RE PSX titles, and the OUTBREAK SERIES WITH ONLINE SUPPORT BACK on one disc with tropheys.

Guaranteed sales

This is Gaa just passing by and adding Gaa's thoughts

Love Gaa~

Well, I don't think that there are any semi-modern Capcom titles that need an update other than DMC1, 2, and 3.

The only other games that fall within the remake/revisioning category that I would want is Maverick Hunter X2, Maverick Hunter X3, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Capcom Vs. SNK PRO, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, and SVC Chaos: SNK Vs. Capcom (the first 2 obviously for PSP and the rest PSN & Xbox Live releases).

=)

I was shocked to hear that SCEA was actually giving God of War 1 and 2 a fresh coat of paint and bundling them on 1 PS3 BluRay.

What I think would be icing on the cake would be to also do the same HD treatment for the PSP God of War Chains of Olympus and include it as a bonus unlockable game.

In regards to the Devil May Cry games, I think it would be important to also consider tweaking the script a bit here and there as some lines sound a bit awkward. Also, it would be great to keep the difficulty level of the games the same as the ones included in the 5th Anniversary Collection. By this, I'm mainly looking at DMC3 which I remember having a harder time when I first played it and then when I got the 5th Anniversary Collection, I realized that it was much easier (even though my skills have drastically improved seeing how I've managed to complete all 3 games with the highest ranking on all missions...ehehehehe).

I will admit that when I first got DMC3 (the regular USA one, not the special edition), I remember getting pwned pretty badly by the cerberus ice boss. I also remember having trouble with that first boss...the grim reaper one right after the small fight in the pool hall in the beginning of the game.

=D

You know, I guess it would also be pretty cool if maybe Onimusha 1, 2, 3, and Dawn of Dreams were redone in HD and like a 5th Onimusha released on the PS3. If there is another Onimusha game, I hope that Tenkai is the main character (for reaons I won't say as it'd be a huge spoiler for those who have not played Dawn of Dreams through the end). But I hope he would use a sword and not a staff. If Onimusha (the games) were HD-fied, I would assume that at least analog control would be available to all of them. It was quite annoying in the 1st and 2nd.
