Would ken ever become as strong as ryu again?

The way I see it game wise meaning Im not applying anything from the awesome animes or comics to my rhetoric is that SFA2(revised SFA) Ken either lost to Ryu prior or they wanted to fight to see who was the strongest student under Gouken's tutelage. It seems that it is Ryu that proves stronger since he is the one that goes forth in the World Warrior Tournament while Ken stays either at the dojo or goes back to the US. I say this because in SF1 Ken is only selectable to the second player and even if he was in the first tournament he would have lost because it is Ryu who prevailed against Sagat in won the title so that would mean that he either beat Ken in the process or that Ken was bested by one of the other warriors.Throughout the SF2 series multiple changes were imposed on both Ken and Ryu. Ryu slow and deliberate Ken fast and reckless if you noticed Ryu's tetsumaki senpu kyaku would hit once and floor the enemy but Ken's was faster and would deliver more hits but for the same amount of damage the same can be said for the shoryuken Ryu's hits once and Ken's hits 3 times with fire effect for the same amount of damage. So my thinking says if someone has to hit multiple times to do the same damage I do in one hit that I am stronger than them. Ken's need and desire to compete against and out do his buddy even continues on to Street Fighter 3 series

Canon wise, Ryu really isn't all that powerful to begin with. Sagat is still the more powerful fighter. It was retconned so that Ryu's victory was only obtained via a cheap shot after he was overwhelmed by the satsui no hadou. Gouki is stronger than Ryu. I would also say (canon wise) that Gen is more powerful (since Gen is understood to be Gouki's equal). The difference between Ken and Ryu is not actual fighting skill, but fighting potential. A lot of the animes don't portray this, but the plot to the franchise itself some what does.

Ryu is bolstered by the satsui no hadou, which is simply a willingness to murder to achieve victory. Of course if I am willing to fight to the death and my opponent is not, my potential for victory is far greater (e.g. Gouki's first fight with Gouken). If both opponents are driven to killing, you may have a stand off (e.g. Gouki and Gen). In the case of Ken and Ryu, they are always going to be closer than one would think. Anyone is free to step in and disagree/correct me. But this is how I understood things to be.

Satsui no GEN IS A BEAST!!! haha

just out of curiousity wasnt ken the winner of the street fighter 2 tournament, im only going by street fighter 2010 lol!  even if ryu is stronger, he still needs to keep up with ken's speed.  you can be stronger than anyone in the world but if your slower the other guy can take you out.  besides ken is just kooler on soo many levels.  ryu is too emo.

I believe they are meant to be equal, when Ryu isn't using the Satusi no Hadou.

I think ken will grow stronger in a timeline where his son mel is born.

Seth said all the characters are juiced up in super SF4.  So let's see what capcom did to ken in this new street fighter version.

thats true but if they make a SFIII sequel then they will prob show the difference between  ken and ryu

besides Ryu is balanced, slower and focuses more on hadokens

Ken is more of a kicker type, a lot faster, and focuses more on shouryukens speed  but as you sad the shoyu reppa does more hits, same damage it is meant to be an easy landing move while is shouryuken super does only one hit its meant to hit hard but like Ryus shin shouryuken those supers has less accuracy
