Akuma has to be one of the most misunderstood characters in video game history. lol. He's not a villian. His whole thing is that he wants a good fight & he fights to the death. However, he's not a murderer, he doesn't go around fighting anyone, just those who are worthy. One example of this would be how Gen was looking for a fight with Akuma because Gen was ill & dying. He sought out this fight in order to die, pretty much. However, Akuma realized Gen was ill & stopped the fight prematurley.
Akuma is just like Ryu, except his views are slightly different. He's not a villain or a "bad guy."

dout it, since it loooks waaay off. and Art book says nothing of it.
But ya, I never really saw Akuma as evil, thou...he does come off as one evil SOB.
