I've been at this voice acting thing for more then a year now and I feel it could be a serious career for me, how would I get a job at Capcom?
(I've already got 2 million and 1 ideas for voices I could do for certain games) |

Well, here's the thing. I believe most voice acting jobs aren't in house. In other words, they usually hire VAs on a per project basis and usualy through an agency.

I don't believe voice acting is something they would post on a career's page, as they're usually one time scenarios. That is, unless a deal for a certain limit is signed.

I'm not sure how the voice acting thing works, but if it's not in the careers page, they probably aren't looking for the position or it isn't done through Capcom US. I believe Voice acting is either done through Capcom Japan (if it's a Japanese developed game) or it's done through other North American devs since Capcom US really just publishes games.

Considering most of actors are "recurring rolls" and most that were interviewd have there own jobs as famous voice actors or just plain actors. I assume they go thru agency like many of them do. I would check out few of voice actors pages and see how they got there and what tips they got.

Most voice actors are "actors" and are also in Unions (SAG and AFTRA) So unless you first get into Broadcasting or Radio and then into voice acting, it's a tough battle for jobs. But don't let me stop or discourage you. Like any position, there are tons of good and bad actors (in this case voice actors) who either pay their dues (years and union fees), their in the right place and right time or are just pure lucky. |
