As for "Spreading the Resident Evil love", remember how the Wii isn't getting RE5?

Oh they also complain that Capcom isn't spreading the Fighting game love to the HD consoles either.

Apparently SFIV, SSFIV, MvsC, and SSF2THD Remix were all terrible, and the only good Capcom fighting game is TvsC. At least that's what I gather from all the whining that's going on.

People will always complain that said game isn't coming to their system of choice.  Some people do this for every system.

Wiiowner: We want Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter 4 on Wii

Some smartass: Wii is crap, if you absolutley want it buy a PS3 or 360

Wiiowner: These games are the only games i want on that system and buying an expensive  console for twogame is stupid, and not everyone can justify buying another console

Some smartass: If you really want them that shouldn't stop you. Quit your whining

Some smartass: Why won't you release MH3, TvC, RE: Chronicles and Archives on the HD-consoles, it's unfair that Wiiowners are the only ones that can experience these games.

Wiiowner: If you want to play them why don't you buy a Wii.

Some smartass: Because Wii is for kids and casuals, plus i don't want to waste money on a console with only a handful of games.

The level of hypochrisy in this thread is amazing. Funny how the complainers are the SAME people who beg for a Wii version of Resident Evil 5.

I'm not buying a Wii for several reasons. One of them being how Nintendo stopped Microsoft from publishing GoldenEye on XBLA, but regardless, I just don't like the Wii controls and a lot of the "HD gamers" (cause apparently the term 'next-gen' offends some) that own PS3s and 360s I know feel the same way.

The thread was started because Capcom made a statement a while back where they claimed their console agnosticism was over and now they wanted to bring most of their games to the most gamers possible. That was their new policy this generation and for the most part, they have kept to that policy. So now that PS3 and 360 have motion-control capabilities, is it crazy to think that these games on Wii could be ported to those consoles and make sales of that title more profitable??

Now, is there really Nintendo exclusivity deal for these specific RE games or is this exclusivity just "by default", like most Wii games?? If it's the former, then surely the exclusivity deal would expire (usually it's 6 months to a year for these type of things) and if it's the latter, then there's really little to nothing holding Capcom back from developing the game on the HD consoles. Seems to me that Nintendo would be wasting a ton of money of they made an exclusivity deal with Capcom for a game that, when it was initially being developed, MS and Sony hadn't announced motion-controls, making it pointless for Capcom to develop the game anywhere else.

Simple way to end it all:

1st step - Nintendo needs to release the "WiiHD"

2nd step - All new games need to be released on each system.

END.

Wow, I was just thinking about Goldeneye... actually, the reason Nintendo didn't allow Micro$oft to release it on XBLA was because Micro$oft got greedy and told Nintendo that they could release it on Virtual Console (something like...?) a year after it gets released on XBLA. So in reality, it's Micro$oft's fault. Anyway, there's a Goldeneye remake coming out for Wii in 2010.

The Wii controls, the common excuse. The Wii controls work absolutely beautifully for On-Rails shooters, First Person Shooters (The Conduit, for example) and RE4-type gameplay. It has the best control scheme for all 3 types of play, because you can actually aim at where you want to shoot, instead of using an analog stick to move around the screen. I imagine On-Rails shooters would be quite hard with an analog stick. A lot of the games on the Wii are even Gamecube and/or Classic Controller compatible (Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 0, Monster Hunter 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl) so that's no reason to complain.

The only HD Gamers that feel the same way are likely to be fanboys and graphics whores.

Actually, it's the opposite. When people were asking for RE5 Wii; all of the "HD Gamers" denied them and told them to buy an Xbox 360 or PS3. But now when you're asking for Wii games on your HD Consoles, how do you think the Wii owners feel about this?

As for Nintendo exclusivity on the games, I'm not sure but I recall Nintendo making some sort of deal with Capcom, I think it was like "Nintendo gets 5 exclusive Resident Evil titles for the Gamecube and their next console (The Wii)". Resident Evil 4 was supposed to be part of that deal but then they released it on PS2 and PC. So if you look at it, you got REmake, RE0, Umbrella Chronicles, Darkside Chronicles and one more exclusive Resident Evil. But all this could be complete bull**** for all I know, I think I read it somewhere.

@Stuntman Snake: But then all the consoles would surely die if there were no exclusives. Game exclusivity is what keeps companies going and makes them more money. Why would anyone buy an Xbox 360 or Wii if the PS3 can offer the same experience and "ULTRALOLPWNGRPHX" on-top of that.

That was for their big budget HD games. Buy a Wii or go without this game, it's that simple. I really wanna play Little Big Planet, but I refuse to get a PS3, looks like someone isn't going to be playing LBP huh? I don't get upset at the developer for not putting it on the 360 or the Wii. I go "Oh well." and move on. Same principal applies to you!

I support a classic RE Franchise Reboot. Just say "no" to online multiplayer!

How to be an HD Gamer: Talking smack about the Wii moment, then covet it's games the next.

Right, because Nintendo isn't greedy... *rollseyes*
Actually, what happened was this: Microsoft was working alongside Activision, who had the rights to 007 now (and I think, still do) and started making the game behind Nintendo's back. When Nintendo hgigher ups got wind, they figured they had a stake on the title as the game appeared on the N64 and they had heavily invested on development, back in the day. MS tried to compensate by stating that the game would come out on Wii through it's Virtual Console channel, but 6 to 8 months after the 360 version launched. Nintendo's Phils Aime gave MS the greenlight and the deal was virtually done when an out-of-the-loop Satoru Iwata found out and ended the deal. This p!ssed off a lot of fans as you can imagine.

I'm asuming you didn't read the original post or else you would've realized that analog controls wouldn't fair into the equation when it comes to ports of RE:Chronicles/Archives to PS3 & 360. The whole POINT of the thread is having motion controls on 360 & PS3 (with Natal and the Wand) now, wouldn't it make sense to port and produce these titles on 360 and PS3?? While the games would no doubt also be playable with analog controls, they would be as practical for this type of game as analog controls are for Guitar Hero and Rockband titles.

As for Nintendo exclusivity on the games, I'm not sure but I recall Nintendo making some sort of deal with Capcom, I think it was like "Nintendo gets 5 exclusive Resident Evil titles for the Gamecube and their next console (The Wii)". That particular Nintendo deal with Capcom (the so-called Capcom Five) didn't include the next-generation Nintendo console, just 5 games on GameCube. When most of those titles failed commercially, Capcom decided to bring some of those exclusives (like Viewtiful Joe & Resident Evil 4) over to Playstation 2 shift development of titles like God Hand and Okami over to Sony's console.

As long as there are console manufacturers, there will always be 1st party games. Nintendo games will always only be on a Nintendo Console (less Nintendo licenses the title out - i.e. Philips CDi), so NO. Lack of 3rd party exclusives on one console or another doesn't mean conbsoles will die. In fact, what do you expect to happen when Nintendo comes out with their Wii HD and 360/PS3 are still around?? Third Party game publishers won't be making motion-control games exclusively on Wii when they can make the same games on PS3 and 360.

lol!!!! though the same could be said the other way around, except for the last part.  it would be more so because the ps360 are too expensive and they dont want to waste money on a console with dated controls or some other lame excuse.  oh yeah and instead of smartass being ps360owner and the wiiowner being crybaby Cry
