I'd like to see that fanart finished. It shows promise. Unfortunately though... you have a better chance of making it into Paris Hilton's T-Mobile Sidekick than you do of actually contacting Strider's creator. Darran Jones of Retro Gamer actually has a contact with the guy and can't get him to talk. Gameside interviewed him earlier in the year, and we still don't have scans or a translation of that. And that's assuming, of course, that you're talking about Kouichi "Isuke" Yotsui, the game planner for the Strider coin-op. If you're talking about Moto Kikaku... well... you're going to have to figure out whether Hiroshi Motomiya, Tatsumi Wada, or Tetsuo Shiba created Hiryu. Or maybe some combination of the three. Trying to figure out how to contact the Moto Kikaku group is a royal pain, as well. On top of that, trying to contact these people may not even matter because Capcom may completely own the rights to the franchise and just be putting "courtesy credits" in every game where Hiryu appears, similar to how Superman gets a "created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster" byline. |

I was actually going to make a strider 3 thread on your site scion right before I made this thread which is kinda funny. But I was like "uhhh....which forum do I go to?"
Scion we should seriously do this. You know alot more about strider then me. What if we made this huge petition and just spread the word. I need you to direct me in what you think new strider should look like.
anyways heres more progress. Not that anyone cares. Still rough. If anyone has suggestions do tell

There's a LSCM Nexus section at the bottom, and there's a Fan Projects section you could post this in, if you wanted...
A petition of any kind just won't work. Marketing R&D doesn't look at petitions to see whether they should make a game. An overwhelming demand can sometimes get what the fans want (MvC2, Firefly), but petitions are pretty useless. If you want to be a character designer for Capcom, keep at the art. You've got a great style and you don't need me for that. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though.
It's hard to say what it needs at this stage. A lot of it's really sketchy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing... it just makes it difficult to judge, you know? I like the gathered sleeves, though. Never seen a Hiryu concept that gave him sleeves. I also like the loose, long hair, too. There's a lot of energy in that sketch and it actually reminds me of early Travis Charest and Leinil Francis Yu. As I said before, I'd like to see it finished. |
