Why does Final Fight Double Impact require me to be in PSN?

As the thread title states, I have to be signed into PSN for the game to play. Otherwise, I get an error message.  From what I understand, you don't have to be signed into xbox live to play that version.

Where I live I don't always have access to the internet, and FF:DI is the only game I've ever experienced to do this. It's horrible.

Will this be patched?

Agree 100%... Capcom really owes us an explaination as to whether it's intentional or not. We at least deserved a warning stating you must be logged in. I gave up my Linux partition because this was the one game I felt was absoloutely worth it... Please Capcom?

i too am a bit annoyed by needing to be signed in to play the game, i often dont have my ps3 plugged into the internet unless i plan to play online because i share the line for everything

i assume they did it to stop gamesharing but the way its handled in this game just gives us another example of when drm hurts those who actually bought the product

I have this problem too, when I try to play it offline, and I can't even enter the game and play it in one player mode because of a playstation network error message that appears when my PS3 is not connected to the internet.

I played it offline just fine.  I changed it to offline only and played 1 player like that.  I know I was offline because I had just gotten a message that I was disconnected from the access point and it wanted me to resign in and I didn't.

Yes, this was on PSN.

I play offline because it prevents people from entering and leaving which can be annoying playing online. You don't have to sign in to play. (PSN)

Who will send Felicia's Darkstalkers invitation, Ono or Niitsuma?

The game cannot be launched from the XMB unless your PSN ID is signed in.
