I'm frustrated and upset by it for a number of reasons.

As a consumer, I also play games online on PS3, which I can't do... and likely my personal information is also compromised. Secondly I like to buy things in the PlayStation store and that I can't do right now.

On a related note, as an executive responsible for running a business, the resulting outage obviously costing us hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars in revenue that were planned for within our budget. These are funds we rely on to bring new games to market for our fans.

In short, the hackers appear to be trying to "punish" Sony for some perceived injustice, and they've been effective in that I suppose. But they're also punishing millions of other consumers and businesses which makes it impossible to be sympathetic to their "cause".

I'm “clearly” upset in general my head feels like its about to explode I've been under going a very stressful week.  My insult meter goes from -25% to 80% from zero to 60 seconds, meaning I'm fairly aggressive equaling my mood.  Most probably applies in some case with answers or comments that seem to push buttons or rang around walking on my feet.  Lets just say, I'm VERY upset with the hackers took away my damn online entertainment.  My expressions is nearly a cave man sounds if you could visualize that.  Witty in my eyes in this mood I'm in counts directly to smart as s, hate to be that way and clearly I didn't mean to get angry it just happened.

Well thats ok.We all have one of those weeks.Just try to take it easy.Remember,hackers want us to get frustrated and annoyed.But we shouldn't let it happen.

@Sven,

personal information compromised the hackers are going to hit the servers again I guess this weekend or next and sell are information to site forums.  So I hope everybody is ready to kill a hacker, sony said they're giving out a reward (I wonder) they never said “dead or alive” if we bring the hacker back dead do we still get a reward?  Anyways...  I hope sony filters their hack attack with a trap centering virus between the firewall and server why not lay a virus in their to be Activated upon a hack entry  ..

 and firewall blocks hits them with a virus that corrupts their keyboard to be backwards then locks their logs and information about their tracks so the cover ups can't happen again.  10 years in jail sounds pretty good for these hackers though.  Being its effecting gaming businesses and that big maybe on how these sells are and where could have been better then worse and now the fans don't get a surprise that sucks.  I really need a nerd punching bag....

Sony had very poor security and as such it was bad for third parties to put so much faith in them.

Really for the publishers that make their games PSN exclusive or limit their game sales to XBLA and PSN they bring this on themselves, for example Bionic Commando 2 why is this game not on Steam?, all the time PSN has been down Capcom could have been selling copies on Steam that would have helped make up the loss of money.

Limiting game sales to only one or two markets is just a bad idea.

It really sucks. I can't talk to my friends in Japan, I can't play against my friends who are out of town, I can't go through my list of downloaded games, or play certain games. All because these damn hackers wants to support George Hotz. Hotz is a **** and I hope someone beats the living hell out of him and his hacker friends.

Its kind of stupid to say this, but that's the risk that comes with digital services. Also, you guys are talking about crackers not hackers. I think this is a good wake up call to all companies, but in the end we are the ones that suffer.

@Sven

I think it only makes sense that Sony give companies  the projected profits for the time that PSN was down.

Edit: Sorry, just saw the thread regarding the subject of DRM in recent games leaving them unplayable.

Want: Darkstalkers to return in the not to distant future. Yeah, that would be great. Please?

I would be surprised if publishers didn't have deals in place that would see Sony giving them compensation for the time down, but Sony have really been dragging their heels on getting PSN back up so that leads me to believe they don't.

When Sony is involved it seems many publishers lose all sense and harm themselves for the benefit of Sony.
