We know from past that some gfwl supported games could not be played by people from unsopported countries(Dirt 2). So after seeing ssf4:ae is not supported on steam, people started to ask that will be the game avaliable for online worldwide? I know that sf4 is avaliable for online and i enjoy playing it but what about SSF4:AE? Will this game be avaliabe online for all countries? And pls if you ever again realese a fighting game pls use steamworks. Listen to your customers capcom because it shall be your best bet listening customers.

It's probably not what Microsoft wants, but I think nothing stops you from choosing a country with supported online when signing up for GFWL.

15 characters only in offline mode? How does that work, and what's the point?

Im a bit confused about this also but I think what he means is its 15/39 ONLY if you are using an offline GFWL profile. Pirates can do that and I guess that's to restrict them from features until they buy the game and register it online. Interesting anti piracy concept. It might work actually.

Correct. Only 15 of the 39 player characters will be selectable if you aren't authenticated (not just offline account). We preferred doing this rather than not having any playable experience offline (which many other games do).

I won't always have internet connection so I can't play if I go somewhere with my laptop??? So much for the long waiting we get no bonus but a ridiculous security system. That's why I finished with UBI Soft.... :( This is the worst gaming news I heard in this year... Oh man, why.... :( I can't believe this...

15 Characters offline thing is very, very, bad news. It's a big slap in the face to your customers for the HOPE that you're frustrating some pirates at the same time. Do you really think pirates care? They have such a massive collection of pirated games that they jump from game to game after 30 minutes anyway. And assuming your scheme works, Capcom, people who don't care enough about fighitng games to buy SSF4 won't NEED 39 characters. They'll be happy with their 15 characters for the two and a half days that they play their pirated game before moving on to something else. And then your customers, the people who were willing to pay, will have this ridiculous security measure in their game forever? Disappointing.

Yeah, sure. Here's the full list of instances where DRM stopped pirates in the past:

Its not really DRM per se. Basically a pirated gfwl game can be played if you create an offline profile which doesn't require a cdkey or anything at all. So this just restricts all the features if you do that. I have friends who pirated DOWII which is a gfwl game and they could play it offline no problem just by doing that.
