Is Capcom satisified with the early reviews for Bionic Commano Rearmed?

Ign has also given the PC version a 9.3. So it looks like Capcom & Grin has done a good job handling a Multi-platform release. I look forward to purchasing the game on Steam once its out. Best of luck with your future titles!

Also as to what Sven was saying.. I would personally love to see a Strider remake.. I can see you guys make an incredible Ninja Gaiden style action game using the MT Framework engine.. The only problem i see with that is that it might compete with your own DMC4. But regardless... Strider was a classic..

Actually, I do have some bad news on the Steam front. At the last minute, we've been unable to reach mutually agreeable terms with Valve on BCR, so they won't be carrying it (unfortunately you'll have to get it elsewhere). I won't get into the details but we do continue to have a good relationship with Valve and future Capcom titles we expect to be carried on Steam.

You'll find BCR available tomorrow on Direct2Drive at 8AM PST. Other sites (like our Capcom e-store and Gamersgate.com) will come on shortly thereafter.

Within a few days (or perhaps sooner, just waiting on some package tests), you'll find it at more than a dozen other sites (including BestBuy.com, Nvidia.com, CircuitCity.com, etc.).

And thanks for the heads up on the 9.3 from IGN PC. I hadn't seen that one.

Thats a real shame.. but regardless ill still purchase it from either Capcom's store or direct2drive. But it would of been nice to have it on steam for the convience of having it linked to my account. Thanks for the heads up though Sven.

Also i dont mean to bother you Sven but you can chime in on how the Capcom store works? If i buy the game direct from you guys can i re-download it whenever i want in case i uninstall it in the future? As you know problems on the pc can happen so i wouldnt want to repurchase the game again because of i had to format my pc. The beauty of steam huh..

Yeah, I'm bummed about Steam too. I'm an avid user (read: TF2 whore).

That's a good question...

I'll tell you how it was originally proposed to us, how it works today... and how I want it to work in the future.

It'll look like "us" but behind the scenes, we use Digital River as our provider. They handle the transaction, the account management and the serving of bits to you.

In the original agreement (not the one we're using now, but what we started with) with Digital River, we let you download the game, an unlimited number of times for 30 days from purchase, and then they offered an "extended" option for another few bucks to let you download it an unlimited number of times for two years. I felt that wasn't good enough.

So what we did was structure our deal with them so that you get the extended option automatically (effectively, we pay for it) which means, you get two years of unlimited access to the content you've bought from us... but I'm not done yet.

While it doesn't apply yet, I'm trying to get to a place, more like Steam, where Capcom will take on the serving of bits role such that we can offer you access to your content for as long as we're in business (Iegal hates the word "forever"). Again, we're not there yet, and no promises that it will absolutely happen, but probably before your "two years" is up, I'd like to be doing that.

BC:R not on Steam, but future titles will be?

Then I won´t buy it. I want to keep the number of channels I use for
digitally distributed titles to a minimum, and to use another one for
just this case because some kind of strange disagreement? No.

Steam is my prefered service, where I have 19 other titles already. If you want my money, get the games on Steam.

What garantees is there that titles like Age of Booty will be available if you can´t get Bionic Commando on it?

Sven, until you guys get the game on Steam, I'm not buying it.

First, this nonsense with the price at the last minute. Then, you don't see fit to inform us that Steam won't be carrying it. This game looks beautiful, but it is just jaw-dropping how severely the PC release has been botched.

For the sake of pete, make the deal with Valve. Get the game on Steam. I'll wait a couple weeks if necessary. But until it's on Steam, you're not getting my $15 (and looking at the game's forums at bioniccommando.com, you're losing a lot of other sales, as well).

I have to agree with the Steam part...  I want the game but I will not buy it anywhere but steam... other services are crappy (D2D)...

No Steam No Buy.  It's as simple as that.  You are making $5 more over the console version, and yet you are bickering over percentages of the sales on what's considered the LARGEST user base of digital download gamers.  Don't think that because it's not on Steam that everyone will jump ship and buy it elsewhere.

It is incredibly short sighted, and will hurt your sales in the long run.

I don't really care about the price... the game looks like it's worth the price tag... but I do want the game on Steam... please try to get it there... cheers...
