Sven, so if it isn't about the percentages, and it isn't about Securom, then what is left? Was it that they made a deal with IGN to get it released on their D2D system? |

i'm very disppointed the game isn't comming to Steam. Steam is so popular simply because it's the best. there are so many reasons.. a publisher like Capcom can't ignore this. steam is way more important then D2D and the other services. |

You realize you can get from capcoms site itself right? They allow you to redownload if you lose the file, and give you simply the install .exe without any other software. Why in the world is that a problem? I realize its not steam, but it isn't exactly a foreign 'service' either. Just a normal online purchase. |

There was a blog post on the official Capcom website stating that this I have a link the article in question: http://www.bioniccommando.com/us/blog_entries/view/292 and backed it up for future reference. It should also be noted that this game was listed to be $10 across all platforms but that statement was later recanted. It should also be noted that there was never any official statement on the main Bionic Commando website to inform customers of this decision. Instead, customers had to discover it themselves.
Also I am displease with how Capcom is handeling the situation. They locked my thread detailing about this situation and instead direct me to a thread with a title that has to deal with reviews. This is a pretty poor performance on Capcom's part. |

What us PC gamers do NOT want:
219 separate ways of downloading 219 different games.
What I mean is, we do NOT want a future of PC gaming where we have to use EA Link to buy an EA game, plus a Blizzard.com account to purchase Diablo 3, and a Gamersgate bloatware to purchase a Bethesda Game, a Capcom account to buy Bionic Commando and a Steam account to purchase Left 4 Dead.
This is BAD for PC gaming. Digital Download is supposed to be an easier to use service which trades the higher cost of physical distribution and markteting of one for lower cost bandwidth use for the publishers/developers and a conventient way to LEGALLY PURCHASE games for the consumers.
I am not here to support Steam, D2D or any other individual download method, I am trying to support non exclusivity deals and crap like that which hurts us, the consumers.
There are pros and cons of every DD service, let people choose which one they want to use butt not have them feel like **** because they "chose" the wrong one and do not want to deal with multiple accounts and excess bloat ware clogging up their gaming PCs.
The PC market already gets treated like the red headed step child of the gaming industry and all us consumers actually want is a convenient way to buy your products, and we get shafted because of gaming company's ego or machinations.
And the video game industry seriously wonders why piracy is so rampant?
I would have bought it this morning if it was on Steam, and not because I'm some stupid Valve fanboy or think Steam is the greatest, but I can't buy it now simply because I would like a single unified platform to purchase a game so I don't have to have 5 hoggish resource tray icons running in the background just to play a game I legally bought.
There is no wonder the most sure fire easy to use and convenient digital download website has a pirate ship as a logo.
