Is Capcom satisified with the early reviews for Bionic Commano Rearmed?

Which channels have the demo for the PC-version?

There is no demo for the PC version.

Now there is something that really needs an explanation. The XBOX version has one, so how hard can it be? At since PC gamers have computers with varied specs, the need for a demo is even higher on PC.

Typing the phrase "Is Capcom satisfied with the sales off XXX" is the Unity forum equivalent of saying "Beetlejuice" three times in order to summon Sven.

techknight, I'm curious. So, you have just the BCR installer and serial, and have removed the GG software. BCR uses Securom, so, I'm wondering, have you been able to install BCR on multiple PCs (if you're able to test this?) simultaneously without problem? Or is it like Bioshock and Mass Effect, and only gives you a limited number of installs?

Sven, maybe you could enlighten me. I may buy the game yet, if I like what I hear.

If I use GG to purchase the game, then take the BCR standalone installer and serial, and delete the GG software forever, will I be able to save that standalone installer and serial, and use them at any point in the future, to install the game as many times as I like, on any PC? If so, I may reconsider.

It looks like only one activation is possible at a time. When I got home I installed BCR on a laptop and when it got to the activation portion it was "terminated". There is an option to activate manually with an unlock code but the help screen is missing the phone number to call!

I uninstalled the game from my desktop, and was then able to activate on the laptop.

So basically anyone with multiple computers is screwed, it looks like... (And god help you if your OS install crashes before you've done a de-activation!)

Sven, can you explain why BCR's SecureRom is so stingy? I know you guys have piracy issues on the PC, but I bought the game...

Edit: Just a theory, but perhaps Valve didn't want the extra layer of SecureRom and that's what Capcom couldn't agree with? BioShock's DRM caused some pretty bad customer relations for Valve.

Ok so it's not on Steam. Yes this sucks but if you really wanted the game then you can purchase it from the other places. I really can't see the reason for whinning (except if you can't download it from Capcom themselves from specific countries as it was stated from someone below). Cheer up people, it's not the end of the world Tongue out

Thanks for the info, techknight. But ugh, it's not what I was hoping to hear. This just keeps on getting better, doesn't it?

Hey, Sven, did the disagreement with Valve have anything to do with Securom?

Waait, so they're charging us 5 bucks extra AND it's not coming out on STEAM

WTF is going on? Capcom are normally excellent with their PC support

Steam is such a central place, it feels as if this game just dropped of the radar the moment it became apparent that it won't be available there.

I'd really love for this game to do well on the PC, as I'd really want Capcom to continue to develop for the platform. Plus, the developers on Grin are Swedes, as am I. But with the higher price (than on consoles), as well as the obscurity of having it spread out through several minor distribution channels -- of which D2D is the biggest and most well-known, but at the same time loathed by gamers world-wide -- but not the major one, I fear that Capcom just doesn't make it available and/or desirable enough on the PC. This is especially true when taken in contrast to the console versions where it's cheaper, easier to find, and easier to know how the system it is bought off works. With Steam, that's a known and familiar system for many gamers -- even those that haven't personally used it have likely heard alot about it.

This as well as the price have certainly made me somewhat torn -- it was a no brainer before all of this, as I had been anticipating the game for quite some time.

Still, I'll purchase the game in the end because I really want to support it, but I'm sure this won't cost Capcom just a few sales, but rather alot of them.

As it was stated (and i'm surprised most of you don't know it yet), the PC version will have extra DLC content in the near future. This is why the game costs more according to Ben Judd

"I can give you a song and dance about PC digital content being more expensive as a general rule... but nobody wants to hear that crap. I can say this: for the PC version we are planning on uploading some additional PC-only challenge rooms via a free patch so you will get more bang for your buck,"

Actually that is not why it costs more. It was simply added to appease people who were, understandably, upset at the price raise. This happened even inspite of them stating it would be $10 across all platforms.

This wouldn't be too much of a problem (I know Steam can be expensive to put content on) if it was actually on Steam.Right now, to be honest, it actually costs them more to have it on XBLA then it does PC. Its only that PC is a smaller market so they charge pc gamers more to make up for it.

This practice, while makes sense from a financial perspective, is horrible on a public front. Capcom is punishing PC gamers for, what is essentially, their blunder in the first place by not putting their product up on a market that would reach a greater audience.

It will be only a matter of time before Capcom blames piracy for their problems instead of their own incompetence. While piracy is a real threat to a company's capital, poor buisness planning, decisions, and PR are even more of a threat. If Capcom cared a bit about their finances, they would have the game on a service with millions of users.

I use this harsh tone because they stated it would be on Steam and it would be $10. Only an irresponsible company would make such public statements when they do not know the full details.

This has to be a joke or ignorance. Capcom has a poor track record when it comes to pc support. The disastrous Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 3 port is proof of that. Also Bionic Commando doesn't even offer basic pc essentials such as adjustable texture and model detail, a switch to turn off bloom, etc.

Completely and utterly untrue. Our best PC partners have similar terms to XBLA and PSN (not better). Our "lower margin" partners are lower because (as I've stated before) there's three mouths to feed, not two.

And given that you have to have price parity across a given platform in most of our edistribution contracts (which is understandable because you can't have people undercutting each other... what sort of partner would that make you?), guess how we price things? The economics between PC and console ARE different and to suggest otherwise just spreads misinformation.

I explained this last week.
