I was just wondering how effective you think the Ask capcom board is as a means of communicating with customers? From the board members perspective the benefit is talking with people involved in the decision making process at our once favourite company. But on the other side, often it seems like apart from the moderators there is only one person here who takes any active interest at capcom. Does our feedback matter at all? If so are our concerns or requests ever passed on to anyone, ever? Do you ever discuss how annoying we all are in board meetings? What kind of influence on capcom is there from any kind of consumer feedback on this board?

Of course we matter, Im not sure how much but we do, For Example SF2HDR was originally suppose to SF2 with New HD art thats it then people started askin for things like Remixed music, Revamped characters and stuff, the listened and did and now look at it way more happened the what was intended all because of us.
Example #2: Okami Wii was like 100% are fault with the help of Sven, they did even though they knew it wasnt goin to sell huge, Hell I think its safe to say all Capcoms Remakes/Ports are all influenced by are constant bitching- DR Wii,Okami, Lost Planet PS3, So yea I pretty sure we Influence Capcom threw this forum, I dont know how much but we do.

Aside from having your feedback read by some Japanese execs, American branch execs (including a VP), and certain projects being directly influenced by postings here...well damn I guess this board really doesn't have much of a purpose. |

You'd be surprised at how much influence it has... some obvious examples were posted above but there's dozens of less obvious ones I can't talk about.

It's my job to make sure you're being heard, and I am good at this job. It's easier with people like Sven at the same meetings, helping to make sure that your voices and interests get fair review and consideration. By talking here, you are actually a voice at Capcom. You are not the ONLY voice at Capcom--just because vocal fans want it doesn't mean it somehow instantly happens, but there are lots of ways things said on Unity make a big difference. It's also a matter of HOW you say what you say. It's not always as simple as saying "I love Game X--make another one!" Our development resources, franchise sales history, etc., all need to line up before we can gamble the company's financial well-being. That said, IF those things do line up, hearing what people are interested in (and why) really does make a difference in the decision making process here. Okami Wii really was a great example of a possibility that was spurred into becoming a reality by fan response. Honestly though, if we could tell you all the different effects you internet weirdos have had, I think your jaws would be on the floor

I think they're excellent They've created a fantastic perception of Capcom as a comapny and they've presented a more human side to the people that work there It also allows them to tell us what we want to know (which is then disseminated across the internet). This is in contrast to the standard tactic of publishers just telling us what THEY think we should know Capcom are at the forefront of community relations and they're doing a fantastic job on the PS3/360 and particularly the PC
