I don't think Capcom had any choice but to open up these forums. I remember wayyy back when, I used to email Phillip Navidad because he was the customer service rep at the time, and I used to nag and nag him with the same questions about working for Capcom someday, and about MegaMan sequels. Poor guy. Does he still work for Capcom in some fashion?
Phil has departed the Capcom fold, but unless I miss my guess, he's registered very recently here :) He thinks know one knows, but we see all!
I remember Rey Jimenez took over his job at some point, and look at how far he's come now!!
Yep, Rey's been here a good long time.
I remember being super pissed that Capcom of Japan was hosting all these events for MegaMan and we got absolutely squat over in America and so I wrote Rey quite a letter lol. He pretty much put me in my place and made me realize that Japan is roughly the size of California, only with a much higher and and more condensed population, thus allowing them to host such events and have people from all over the country able to make it. While over here, that'd never be possible. I AM glad to see that that's changing and more Capcom events are being hosted by you guys (although, I'm terribly sad that I can never make them due to living in New York City).
Events in the US are difficult and expensive and serve only a very specific regional area but we're working on it.
