_____ vs. Capcom

Just wondering if it might be possible, should Tatsunoko vs. Capcom not be able to come to America due to licensing issues, if we might be able to get some sort of variation instead?  Back in the day, it wasn't that uncommon for graphics and certain things to be changed or removed for international releases... though admittedly, I don't know if the greater scope of technology now makes such a prospect more complicated or not.

Still, I'll be honest: I'm not much interested in the Tatsunoko part.  I've nothing against them, but it's the Capcom side-- MegaMan Volnutt in particular-- that has me sold on this game.  And I'd still love a chance to play it, even if it meant ditching however much of the Tatsunoko part is necessary to make it work (even all of it), perhaps replacing them with new skins or even new characters.

Heck, even back with Marvel vs. Capcom... when I heard the first one wouldn't have character tagging on the PS1, I had hoped for a "Capcom Super Heroes" game that would just let me have Mega Man, Captain Commando, and Strider duking it out in normal fighting style.  Almost like the Capcom answer to Smash Bros.

So, that's my basic question: Might there be some way we could get this game in an altered form if the Tatsunoko licenses don't go through?  Or would Capcom more likely rather just wash their hands of the whole deal and keep the thing in Japan only?

Yea I agree, when I saw Megaman Trigger I was like day "one purchase", I really wanna see this game come out here, but if not I would fine with just the Capcom roster Tatsunoku is cool N all but just Capcom more than enough for me

All I can really say is that we're exploring a bunch of options, and we certainly recognize that there are a bunch of Western fans of this game who would love to see it outside of Japan.  In fact I think I'm president of that fanclub, and it was with much pain that we mailed the prototype arcade board back to Japan R&D today.  Hugs for letting it out to play guys, even if I wanted it to stay longer!

best,

^ Sven you sly devil you. ;)

keep us posted when the time comes that you can!

even if we can't have the tatsunoko  half, i'd be fine with another filler instead. especially if it's just filled with capcom characters completely or having the other half filled with Marvel / X-Men characters. it would be a slap in the face to Ed Boon who thinks he could "kick Capcom's a**" with MK vs DC. Because Capcom's new vs game would own in a huge way. good luck with your progress, Sven!

^...Or this game in English, with no changes. :P

But yeah, it's good to know that CoA is doing its best in bringing it to US. I'm surprised that there are indeed vocal fans of Tatsunoko/people who wanted to play this game.

Fans of .Vs games, not Tatsunoko specifically.

I remember when I suggest Sega and was suprised about all the feedback it got.  I was thinking Square-Enix too , just because their fan base is so massive and could transfer over to capcom (in revenue).

Although, I am surprised at the amount of knowledge these vs. fans have on Tatsunoko. They actually know who Doronjo, the most popular Tatsunoko character (and possibly anime villainess) in Japan.

Internet + Google.

I only knew about the SPC.

But it's very obvious they want marvel more than anything (going by SRK posts). But Ono wants to make the next MvC game, and I am sure marvel would want the grahpics to be SF4 standard, plus go multi console. So, I dunno. But one thing I do know, we need a new Vs game to hold the fans over til MvC 3 gets made. And if theres gonna be  issues with the license holders to these anime characters, then try another alternative. Strike a deal with whomever simular to what capcom did with SNK or Namco, but in a ".Vs game" use.
