For all the people at Capcom, I, and many other owners of the Wii, are very dissatisfied with the company's work in general when it comes to games for the Nintendo Wii.
It started with the port of the game Resident Evil 4. As you know, the Nintendo Wii have backward compatibility with GameCube, which means that anyone can get the GC version of RE4 and play it on a Wii. Then, there was the announcement that the game Okami (PlayStation 2) will have a Wii version, which also is a port. It was also announced a port of the game Resident Evil 0 for the Nintendo Wii. But, like RE4, it also has a GameCube version, which is perfectly playable on a Wii. Dead Rising (Xbox 360) will be remaked to Nintendo Wii with very soft improvements. I think it is better to say that this is a port and not a remake. And, the difference between the release date of the 360 version and the announcement of the Wii version is just 2 years. In a response that Christian Svensson (VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom) gave at a member of this forum, Capcom is testing one or two games from other systems in the Nintendo Wii. That is, more ports ... Furthermore, the strong rumours that are on the Internet about the possible remake of the game Resident Evil 2 for Wii, which is also available on the Nintendo GameCube.
In all these games I mentioned above (except RE2, which is "still" a rumour), the release date from their original versions and the announcement/release dates versions of the Wii is, on average, 3 years! This is very short, because, usually, it is only justified to make remakes or ports of games that were only released in certain continents or have already have more than 10/15 years, because nowadays it is difficult to find the game and its console. I can't understand the reason why Capcom is porting and remaking all these titles on the Nintendo Wii, the most selling console in the world (besides DS). Ohh well, I know, the money... I think we deserve more than just ports and remakes. We deserve the same attention that Capcom gives to the PS3 and XBox 360 owners. We want more original titles (with quality) from Capcom, not remakes or ports!
I don't think the Wii is getting a lot of remakes and ports but I will say I don't think the Wii should be getting ports of last gen games. Sure, The Wii's technology is last gen but we've already seen these games before and don't need to see them again. It did work for RE4, but typically last gen ports with Wii controls DO NOT SELL (Godfather: Blackhand edition immediately comes to mind).
I can't stand when I hear devs say that Xbox and PS3 games are "impossible" to port to the Wii. NONSENSE. If that was the case then why was I playing arcade hits like Double Dragon, TMNT II, and Contra on my NES? Sure the NES graphics did not match the quality of their coin-op counterparts, but the ESSENCE of these games were faithfully reproduced.
Devs and publishers wanted the Wii to fail so they didn't support it with quality titles when it launched. 30 million units sold later and NOW they are scrambling to increase their support. 2009 is going to be a FANTASTIC year for Wii software.

I do, and the Wii's technology isn't last gen. Look at Galaxy, MP3, Overworld, and the Conduit. None of those could've been done last gen.
I wouldn't say that they wanted it to fail, they just didn't think that it would do well, so they bet on the PS360. EA already admitted that they bet on the wrong system, and I they are increasing support for the Wii.
We do not need a new thread on this every other day.
